I am recruiting a volunteer group to go to Honduras so I have been looking into all the logistics.

According to the State Department, Americans do not need to pay for a Visa. All you need is a Passport valid for THREE months after you enter the country. Be sure to keep any documentation the immigration officials give you since you will need to turn it in when you leave. Don't forget there will be a $33 departure tax that you need to pay at the airport the day you leave.

* * * I used the latest information from the State Department Travel web site. I listed the web site for your reference. I trust they update as soon as changes are made. The departure tax adjusts based on the exchange rate. My Honduran coordinator told me it would be $32-34 last week.

I am a gringo living in Honduras and inless they have changed the laws in the last month you must have a passport that is valid for at least six months. When you arrive here they will issue you a 30 day visa that does not cost anything. You can extend this visa for up to three months for an additional fee. Honduras is a beautiful country and worth a visit.
Ryan T with all due respect, I believe your info is outdated. You need a passport with six months left. The airport tax when you leave the country is $35.
