Yes. Yes - God inspired these men to write down the accounts, each according to what they were to preserve for future generations. Written by different people (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - John was the youngest).

How could a book that was translated 3 times over 1600 years between nearly incompatible languages, written by men, and used to control men, be the word of God?

To put is simply, there is nothing within this universe which is not of God. There is no other possibility than that it is of God.

Problem with this statement is when people take it as the 100% only truth. God's words would obviously reach far and vastly, because by this standard, all books and all words are God's words.

The original Arabic language which was used to write the first 5 books was a very rich and meaningful language which had symbols so full of color and heritage... when it was translated into Hebrew much was lost. One Arabic symbol could mean as many as 50 different Hebrew Ideas. There was lost context and inconsistancy in the translating process. And yet the Hebrew's were meticulous. Just imagine the further damage done by King James when it was again translated from Hebrew to English. And now we have produced hundreds of new translations.

My grandfather has worked many years on learning the ancient hebrew language to comprise his own translations of the hebrew text. I have read astonishing reports of his regarding a very different meaning within popular passages we all know, such as "though shalt not..."
The meaning I got from his works suggested that God was telling moses that he was giving them signs or indicators to let them know when they are truely with God. It was said that you will not do those things which bring us closer to death because you will not be capable. It was not meant to be taken as a rule book to state what you are allowed to do.
Free will was very predominant within the texts.
When Adam and Eve were in the garden, (again my interpretation of what I read) God spoke to them and asked "why dont you eat the fruit for knowledge? There is becomming too many of you here and this garden will not support you so you must have awareness to plow the feilds and support yourselves..." God seemed to force them to eat the fruit because all else was gone, used up.
And Genesis, oh boy, I can't even accurately remember the extent to which this account for the beginning of time was interpreted. So much different meaning. Lets just say, there was no indication of day 1 through 7, only the sequence of events. And the events themselves were far more detailed.
I can't even begin to imagine what the original Arabic would reveal with accurate understanding and translation today.

there is only one version of Jesus' birth, but the different authors just tell us details that the others didn't and vice versa. Yes the Bible is holy and the word of God. The prophetic accuracy attests to this.

There are many people out there who would like to brain wash you into the thinking that the so-called bible is the only word of God and that everyone else is going to hell for all of eternally.God can be found in the realm of any of the worlds religions if one is opened minded to see the light of truth.Any one who does not see this profound truth to my mind is an mental mid git.

how can it be the word of god if god himself did not write it? and if it were the word of god there would not be so many different versions of it. there would be copies so each could have their own, but I have owned many different versions of the bible. the word of god would not be subject to change.

What else you think? What is wrong with the versions. Are not there different news papers giving different news. Always ask the question: is there any contradiction in the contents?

I do believe this all to be true, however, what you believe in your own heart is what matters to you. Each of us are unique in that way and that is why we can all think for ourselves. God has given us that wonderful gift. Again, this is my own personal belief.
