You are not overweight...that is definitely the wrong word to use. People especially girls need to stop weighing themselves and just get active. Start jogging/running...get in shape and you won't have to worry about weighing yourself.

As a prior Marine & a partial nutrition nut, at 14, you are FINE. I promise. If you are concerned about losing fat and lowering your BMI (Body Mass Index, it tells you how much body fat you have, a young teenager should have about 15%), then work out a little (3x's a wk 20 - 30 mins a day does work). Taking walks around your neighborhood, going swimming, if you have a brother or dad that has some weights laying around, ask them to help you learn how to SAFELY use them (there is a safe way that works & a not safe way that will not only hurt you, but will not work at all), don't eat before you go to bed, snack through out the day on healty stuff, etc... all of these are things that you can do to help lower your BMI. Don't be surprised if you don't notice weight loss, you have to remember, muscle weighs more than fat but you will lose the fat.

You do not seem to be overwieght. Average BMI for girls is 18-22 percent or a range similar. Don't be too concerned with losing weight- it can be really stressful. Find an outdoor activity that interests you and exercise daily. Eat whole grains and fruits and vegetables. Limit the sugar intake, expecially late at night. Drink lots of water and eat small meals throughout the day rather than one or two big meals.

You sound perfect. I put very little faith in BMI. I am 5'3 and I weigh 150 pounds, but I am muscular-not fat but my BMI indicates that I am overweight. My doctor tells me that I am perfect, and not to look at the scale number. My daughter is 15 and is 4'10 and weighs about 106-but again she was involved in track and very muscular as well.

Also remember that you are still growing.

You have a healthy BMI...25 and over is considered over weight, 30 to 39.99 is obese...40+ is morbidly obese. I would say don't worry about losing weight since your not fat, enjoy the summer and have a lot of fun :)

You are not overweight. You might need to tone up a little. Try running or walking for an hour a day and try to watch what you eat all week and eat what you want on Sundays. That is what I do. I am 24 5'6 116. I also do light weightlifting once or twice a week.

Sounds like you're a "fattie" to me....118 lbs. at only 5'1"?
oh yeah, you need to lay off the fast foods and move away from the computer and TV...
you're 19 lbs. overweight.

NO, I'm serious...according to this calculator you should weigh 99 lbs.

No, you really don't need to lose weight. Your BMI is healthy.
If you want to lose a few pounds, I suggest only eating at home (no fast food) drinking no sodas, just a lot of water. And not skipping breakfast!
