I'm wanting to tone up and lose the extra pounds that I have. I weigh about 135 and i'm not so much worried about my weight i just want to be tight and tone. I was just wondering which of these worked better for ya'll. They all sound pretty fun but i just wanted some outside opinions.

If you want to belly dance, I think you'll like the American Tribal Style of belly dance, since it it eclectic and includes Yoga and such. Rachel Brice is a great Tribal dancer. I suggest finding a class (http://shira.net/directory.htm), but if you want to just use a video, here's a list http://shira.net/videostore.htm I recommend American Tribal Style Belly Dance with Kajira Djoumahna, Volume One (http://www.blacksheepbellydance.com/bazaar/videos.html) for you though. This will certainly get you moving!

However, if you are mostly interested in the work out aspect of belly dance, try Dolphina's videos: http://shira.net/videostore.htm#Dolphina

Best to switch it up!! Tae bo will get a lot of toning and a lot of cardio, Yoga will help with stamina, flexability, and a little toning. Pilates is great for toning. I don't know much about belly dancing but it sounds like fun if you can get into it.

I like yoga its relaxing and easy. Maybe u could try the bikram yoga (the one in the hot room), pilates is also good. Belly dancing is fun and tones up ur mid section. Also try a bodyjam class at your gym. Its a cross between aerobics and dance and its heaps of fun especailly with some mates!

I like the first two answers, but I would suggest of the four, pilates might be the best. I have read articles from pro football players (who are pretty much in shape) that have tried pilates to enhance, or build up their core, and most of them had said it was the most grueling experience they have had. If professional athletes say that about pilates, I would have to think it would be something to try.

it depends on the body tipe and person...if you are looking for a "kick butt" energetic work out then i would do Tae Bo, if you want something calming and sensual then go for yoga, in between then pilates....i dont know about belly dancing..sorry(?)

The best exercise is one that you will actually do on a regular basis. So many people start out with good motivation but then fall off. My suggestion is to try them all and then settle for the one that you like the most.

It's best to vary your workout, so do all of them! Change it up! They all target your core, and are great workouts for toning.
