I hate how Mormons say they are not all that different from Christians.

First off, Mormons believe that you can eventually become a God. THAT is blasphemy. Mormonism is a polytheistic religion.

Secondly, their defense against the ridiculous stories in the book of mormon is that the Bible has silly stories too. Nothing could be further from the truth. The stories in the Bible actually happened. We have PROOF that all the stories happened, unlike mormons.

There is archeological evidence that proves the Flood actually happened. They even found lumber that was thousands of years old on top of a mountain in the middle east. Lumber that had been laid in rows like in a boat.

There are also second hand accounts of many of the names mentioned in the Bible. The Bible has been proven to be accurate. The book of mormon hasn't, so why do they even want to associate with Christians?

LDS/Mormons follow what they believe to be the teachings of Jesus Christ. Get over it.

First: Mormons believe the Bible to be the word of God. We believe in Heavenly Father, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost- we believe them to be separate. We use the Bible just as much as we use the Book of Mormon. God is a loving God and knew that in the Latter days his people would need more than just the Bible, and corrupt forms of the Christian sect to keep the world from going into complete darkness.
Second: The Book of Mormon hasn't been completely proved but there is evidence. The LDS religion is not easy to understand for the weak hearted. When you go to church, and read the scriptures you just know that it's true- it's the greatest feeling in the world.
Third: You're talking about the Mormon religion like you know exactly how it works- do some research!

First off, your religion is only proven enough to make hypothetical assumptions and theories, only enough to barely make a court case drawn out forever.

Second, if you don't like what the Mormons are doing in their religion, then start a small army, load up, then kill off the ones that will not convert or give up their land! History has proven that Christians do this really well!

Manifest destiny.

Any religious belief can only survive if it has new adherents. Since Christianity is the religion of so many in the US, naturally, Mormonism will want to show how it is the same or better than Christianity in order to attract new followers.

Any religious belief from Wicca to Islam will try to convince you why it is best for the same reason. It's nothing particular to Mormonism.

Mormons can believe what they want, just as you and I can believe what we want. God gives us all the opportunity to believe or not believe and who are we to give any less? Each of us will have to answer for our beliefs in the end.

Ahhh....you guys are so nice in replying about us mormons! Thanks!

John D, we DO have evidence about all of our Book of Mormon stories that they were true. We aren't trying to present this book as a total opposite and better thing than the Bible. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. If you read on the cover of our precious book it says, 'Another Testement of Jesus Christ.' Isn't that proof enough we're Christians in the first place? Also, it is ANOTHER Testement. The Bible is the first, and the BofM is the another one. We carry these two sacred books hand in hand, and combine them into one (literally) as the word of God.

You seem to know something about us, but you don't have the right outlook on us. Think of us positively! We can really tell you a lot more. This is just a very brief over view. So if you have more questions.....ask and ye shall recieve! ;)

Not to be a spoil sport or anything, but could you reference some of these proofs you mention.

You said,"The stories in the Bible actually happened. We have PROOF that all the stories happened, unlike mormons."

If there was really and PROOF of anything, why would there be atheists? After all scientific evidence is all we've ever asked for.

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

So you are saying Jesus committed blasphemy?

What is a ridiculous story? That Jesus would visit his other sheep in the New World? That God would save a remnant of the house of Joseph so that the prophesy in Ezekiel might be fulfilled that the stick of David and the Stick of Joseph would be combined? Just because you don't believe it doesn't make it beyond God's power.

You are a complete moron. Anyone who believes that Jesus died and was resurrected so human sin could be forgiven is a christian. To a non-christian, your beliefs are no less absurd than the LDS. There is no proof that anything in the bible happened. If you studied the bible objectively you would see how fraught with error it truly is.

Stop picking on Mormons.

Yes It pains me that Mormons claim they are christian. They teach different things from other christian churches. They lie about who god is .

Everyone has their own definitions of what a "Christian" is. My personal thought is that anyone who follows Christ and his teachings and accepts him as the Savior is a Christian. A lot of people put guidelines on who a Christian is and who isn't, though.
