I have been excercising for about two months. I do weight triaining, jogging, and some cardio on an eliptical machine. I know I should be sore, but sometimes I feel like I can hardly bend anything at all. I do not work out when I feel like that. Is this okay, or is it possible that I am doing serious damage to my body?

How old are you? Do you feel pain when exercising? How long are your workouts? How long have you been feeling incapacitated after workouts? If you have been working out with the same routine for 2 months, you should not be feeling these type after effects. Working out at too heavy a pace will actually retard your progress. Normal soreness is to be expected. If you can hardly get out of bed, you might want to modify your routine.

Also, you might want to make some lifestyle changes. Getting enough sleep? Enough rest between workouts? Proper nutrition? Enough calories? Lots of unanswered questions.

When you begin to work out, often your body becomes sore, especailly if you have never really worked out before, because your muscles are doing much more activity than your used to. However, if you are this sore, it probably means you are doing too much in one day or using too much weight when weight training. Try not to do everything in one day, break up your workouts. Maybe jog and do some light weight lifting one day, the elliptical machine the next, and so on. It is better to do a little something each day than to do everything in one day, then be too sore to work out the next day and skip it. Start out slow, then work your way up until your body can handle it...like run a little more each day, even if its only a couple yards. By doing this youll build strength and endurance, without damaging your health. As far as weights go, start with doing light weight with lots of reps. By pushing yourself beyond your body's capacity, yes, you could be doing a lot of harm to your body.good luck =)

You might be overdoing it. It is natural to feel sore after exercising, especially if you are just starting, but you should be able to move normally. Make sure you warmup first, and also stretch before and after your workouts. This will help. Take it easy, too. Maybe you are doing too much exercise all at once. Ease into it slowly and things should get better!
