I hear some who claim to be Atheist but they say they have a soul or are superstitious. Would they still be Atheist?

What would the proper term for someone who does not believe in god, a soul, spirits, angels, demons, karma, luck, transcending the ox, enlightenment, magic, spells, curses, fung shui, et all.

Atheists don't believe in gods. All that other stuff is superstitious nonsense that atheists (most) wouldn't believe in either.

Srota is a bit mixed up. An atheist doesn't "deny" the existance of god--that implies that a god exists and the atheists are denying this is true. Kind of like "denying" the earth is round. Atheists simply do not believe there is a god, so there's no existance to deny. Why is this so difficult to understand?

I'm a level 2 atheist. I'm about 300 points from reaching level 3. My main goal is to become a level 7 atheist and top contributor and only then will I be allowed to traverse the different dimensions.

Atheists do not believe in a god. There are strong and weak atheists, a weak one says there is no evidence yet, a strong one rejects the premise that there will ever be any evidence of a god as currently constructed.

Technically they are free to believe anything else that takes their fancy, in practise most will take a rational worldview and apportion belief to evidence.

fourmorebeers is almost correct.

Weak atheists don't believe in a God, but don't shut out the possibility of one.

Strong atheists BELIEVE there is no God.

There is a difference between not believing something is true and believing something is not true.

This person who says he is superstitious could be atheist, but I do find that slightly contradictory, since there is no natural reason to believe in superstition.

Atheist = does not believe in any god.

Everything after that is up to the individual. Finding one that believes in a soul is unusual, but they are out there.

No, there are no levels of atheism, but there are different types of atheism. I am the latter one that you explained. No gods, no religion, no afterlife, no supernatural, no karma, no luck, no magic, no spells, no curses....etc.

atheist

(A = Without)
(Theism = Belief in Gods)
Atheism = No belief in Gods
Strong atheism = Belief there are no Gods
Strong atheism+ = Belief there is *no* supernatural at all (me)

( The last [ ' + ' ] is mine, for lack of any known term... )
I'm a 100% good, kind, steadfast, confirmed, devout, committed, militant, fundamentalist, ultra-tolerant, rabid, logical, rational, empirical, *non-denominational* born-again, strong ATHEIST+.
