It expires. It's still somewhat effective for at least a year or two after the date on the tube, provided it's been properly sealed. It most decreases in efficacy with time.

Yes, it expires. The active ingredients become less effective and lose potency. The non-active ingredients can also break down and in some cases actually become spoiled. It probably is not necessary to throw something out on its due date, but I would use it up or replace it w/in a couple of months at the most.

The expiration date referrs to it's peak of performance. It will be less and less effective over time. I personally would not use anything that has expired in and on my body over 1 month.

yes the chemicals in it breakdown after a while and it is no longer effective.
