the preacher and came to me after service this morning and asked if i would do a solo next week in church.....i have no idea what hymn to do, suggestions?? it's a baptist church in rural tx if that matters....

Why don't you do When We All Get to Heaven. That's an upbeat song that's in the hymnal I got from my friends at the Calvary Baptist Church in Redwood City.

I would find out what the sermon is going to be about. Then find a hymn that goes well with the topic.
Since you only have one week, pick something familiar to you.

properly the preacher from a church down the line have been given fired for sleeping with a sixteen year previous parishioner. Now interior the child's defence her mom became pimping her out to him for favors and funds. She became put in foster care, the mother and preacher arrested.
