Sit down with her some place private and have a serious talk. Explain to her that your friendship is important, but that every type of relationship (friends, dating, marriage, etc.) needs to have boundaries. Tell her that when she hits on you, it makes you uncomfortable and it jeopardizes the strength of your friendship. Reassure her that you don't want to lose her as a friend, but those will be the consequences if she doesn't stop hitting on you. That leaves the ball in her court. She'll realize that you're serious and that she has no chance with you as anything more than a friend. It's up to her to decide what is more important to her, flirting or friendship.
Good luck! :-)

I have had this problem alot. I am outgoining and attractive and I am a hairdresser and nail tech and I deal with women constantly . I love to dress nice and take care of myself and I am always being hit on, I just try and talk about my husband and how much I like men so I send the right message. Good Luck

Ooooo that is tricky! I know you probably SHOULD have a sit-down and explain how you fell, but in all honesty, it seems like that would just make things more awkward between you. What I'd do is start telling her about whatever guy you might like- don't rub it in her face or anything, but just put it out there that you are not in the market...or at least you're checking out at a different register!

Go ahead and be a blunt as you can. You can educate her on how uncomfortable it is for lesbians to hit on girls who aren't lesbians. They actually think they can wear you down and tell you to 'try it, you'll like it' and 'how do you know you don't like it if you haven't tried it.' It's creepy beyond belief - and worth a simple, 'You keep your lesbian self to yourself and leave me out of it or lose a friendship, plain and simple.' If she still doesn't lay off the 'hitting on you', drop her from your circle of acquaintances because she's been warned again and again.

You are going to make sure she understands you.I'm sorry but I would drop her.I could not be comfortable around her. Then people are going to think you are gay to,because you are hanging with her.The guys will stay away from you.You could not spend the night with her.No Sleep overs!!! and you couldn't go shopping ,trying on clothes with her.How about where you hang out, she want be checking the guys out like you,And, intro-ducting her to other straight girls. You better get out now.

you need to tell her straight out that u like her but only as a friend. seriously, it doesnt even matter if u hurt her feelings just a little, because she needs to understand that u r never going to be gay. keep talking to her until she gets it. i hope things work out for you !!!! ;)

its a very delicate situatuation, honesty has always being the best way to deal with delicate situations.
tell this person that your feelings are of friendship not romantic, and frienship is all you want or need. If this is not exceptable, loose a friend and gain peace of mind and body.

If being nice doesn't get thru to her, you may have to hurt her feelings in order to get her to accept and respect your wishes
or find yourself a new best friend. Try telling her exactally what you wrote in your question.

I would say that your best friend should know that you're straight and I doubt she's hitting on you. If she actually is, just say to her right out aloud, that you are straight and are not interested in a romantic relationship.
