I have heard that you feel your organization, is directed by God, and that your religion is the only one that has his Holy Spirit guiding it..
Then, I read answers that say, they don't claim that at all..
Which is it. Is the WTBTS guided with the spirit or just by man's interpertation of the Bible..You can't have it both ways..but, I keep reading different answers from JW's.

The reason I ask this..I have always heard from "family members" who are JW's..that God is directing the WTS..that he gives them new light..and food at the right time..
But, when someone ask about so many dates that have been given in the past as to the "end" and armagedon..The JW's are quick to respond..We never said that we are inspired by God, we never said that God was directing us..We never said..
They even give WT quotes from way back in the 1800's..My research has been such that JW's do claim to have God's Holy Spirit..In fact they claim that they are the ONLY ones that have it..Until something doesn't happen that they said would.
As far the person that says they encourage ones to look at others beliefs..That is so untrue..You know it as well as I know it..They tell you NOT to read other religious material..Do not research on your own..as you can't understand the Bible without the WT..Do you say that JW don't say this?

tryingtohelp...You are right about the Bible saying to love God with your whole heart..Christians do just that..It also says to love your neighbor too..Love one another..But, from what I have seen you have love for your Christian brothers and sisters, but to all others you think of them as "worldy" bad people.
The Bible also , states..that you have done no better than a tax collector when you love your brothers..It is to all people that you must extend this love to. Do JW's give to charities..help the homeless? They can build a Kingdom Hall in 3 days, with donations..But, do they do the same for the poor ?.Are you really setting the example that Jesus wants us to live by.

You are getting different answers for two reasons. Sometimes an inexperienced new witness will say the wrong thing because they have not learned all they need to about a certain belief. The other reason is that some getting on this site might not actually be witnesses.
The governing body is guided by God's holy spirit(Matthew 24:45-47)Anyone who is serious about his/her religion should believe that it is the right one. When we study the Bible with someone, we encourage them to make comparisons between our beliefs and others. This way they can make an accurate and firm decision as to whether they accept what we teach them or not. Those who study with us are given ample time to explore other faiths and decide whether or not to join us.

Read (Matthew24:14)14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Who is doing this witnessing work on a worldwide scale appart from Jehovah's Witnesse? I have never ever heard someone here say I had those Penticostals, Baptists,Lutherans, Anglicans, Muslims, or Methodists at my door again. No they usually say those Jehovah's Witnesses were at my door again today. So who is doing the work that God is asking of his people to witness about the good news of his kingdom, not to convert people(for only God and the people themselves can convert)but to witness to people about what is to come shortly(warning people of the coming storm and how they can survive it)Without God's spirit guiding them what other religion has been able to do this work on a global scale? This work alone shows that Jehovah's Witnesses do have the holy spirit guiding us.There is of course more evidence. 1. we have peace among ourselves and others, we have no racial, skincolour, or even national barriers. And preach ther good news from house to house (Acts20:20-21)20And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,
21Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
2. we do not participate in wars or politics(Daniel2:44). 3. we are persecuted just like Jesus was(John15:19-22). 4.Just like Jesus we are called false prophets and liars even a cult(John15:19-22). There is no other religion that stick so closely to what the Bible says, follows Jesus example so closely, and keeps free from all pagan practices and festivals. no other religion can claim such pure worship to be able to have God's holy spirit.

This is why you have an interesting question, because,----
The Witnesses do intense bible study.
There is not a single church or religion in Christendom that studies the Bible like the Witnesses.
They research all available secular history, old texts, and archeology possible, to get as accurate rendering of a certain verse, subject, or matter involved.
This deep research exposes the Babylonian dead works and pagan rites and rituals found in churches and other parts of Christendom.
However,
Regardless how much a man can put into trying to assure the correct rendering of a matter, it still takes help from heaven.
Because of that, they do depend on God's Spirit.

they are purely dissociating from you because of the fact the cult leaders are telling them to realize this. The governing physique of JW do no longer stick to those comparable standards as element by ability of people who have been at that time and desperate to end. those human beings interior the better echelons pick boost and money to stay it up of their larger ranks, they could deny it, and their member could combat you the tooth and nail to the shield the so call easy and discreet slave which they are no longer,. this is a sparkling faith or cult. It has purely over ninety years because of the fact the inception. alongside the way they have made relatively some prophecies that have fail. They deciphered revelation with flaws of each and every form. for this reason, your mothers and dads are following blind courses truly than truly helping you. they could desire to no longer anticipate you to make that non-public determination without ultimatums or putting concern on your suggestions such because of the fact the tip is coming and you're no longer in effective condition to make. no person can utter those words with total fact because of the fact all fall wanting the admire daily interior the comparable way they think approximately intense incorrect doing: mendacity, cheating, shady enterprise practices, roving eyes to the alternative intercourse, could disqualify a individual for the dominion. each and every of the JW have practice those characteristics and are training it genuine now. additionally they have extra those pointless magazines and books to assist others to understand the Bible. The Bible became written for all to verify and understand at their very own time and velocity. Why could yet another mag and greater suitable books could be mandatory whilst the Bible is the gadget that he offered for individuals? they think of the bible isn't comprehensive so that they sense their magazines make comprehensive? uncertain. JW could desire to many flaws. they do no longer pick to admitted. they are boastful as they walk on the line drawing near human beings condescendingly so that they are able to truly understand the way, yet no physique desires them. you are able to desire to make your judgements and examine the Bible for your self if that's what you pick. The Bible is the genuine word and existence giver, no longer Jehovah's Witnesses.

Jesus himself said he was sending in the sacred ghost.
At the first big believers' convention the sacred ghost showed up, and it was none other than Jesus' uncle wearing a sheet, and he has been guiding that fine organization ever since.
So, yes, the Jehovah's Witnesses are actually led and inspired or whatever, but I do observe that the tone of your question is little, say we say, suspicious?
Maybe you should read their Watchtower, then fall on your knees and say 3 hallelujahs to Jesus' uncle. Whose name, by the way, is Phinneas.

The bible is inspired by God,(2 Timothy 3:16) the more you try to attach to bible´s principle the more you are leading by the Holy spirit that inspired the bible.
You can imagine how much do we read the whole bible we have a program in our meeting to read the whole bible and as soon as we finish we began again that is apart of our bible studies, for example do you know how to find in the bible the date that Jesus died? every single JWS know that date it is very easy but the majority of people don´t know also why is important.
also how and small group can reach all nations (238 countries) and well know by his preaching no matter if you are agree or not if is not by the support of Jesus as the head of congregations (100,000 congregations wordlwide doing exactly the same thing at the same time in the same order)

I am one of Jehovah's witnesses and have been for 24yrs. Yes we do believe that Jehovah God approves of us and is guiding us because of our genuine desire to follow his word and do his work faithfully. Approving of us and guiding us is however different to being inspired by God for eg that would mean that we believed that we were infallable like the Pope. And that just isn't so. We belong to an incredible organisation that is made up of every nation on earth. We have genuine love for eachother irrespective of our race. Whether or not Governments command us to go to war or to stop helping others by means of teaching them the Bible, whether we are put in jail or put to death as has happened thousands of times over we will not compromise on God's commands why? Because Jesus said in Matthew 22:37 "You MUST love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. The second like it is this, "You MUST love your neighbor as yourself." He further said in John 13:35 " By THIS all will know that you are my disciples, if you have LOVE among yourselves." I know that we are trying and proving ourselves to be sincere in this area. Today we only have imperfect people within our organisation so at times our wisdom or discernment may be imperfect but we have the humility to recognise that if we have been wrong then we must search the scriptures further to get accurate knowledge. This means everything to us, so that we do not misrepresent our wonderful Father, Jehovah God. Just because their have been changes over the years it doesn't mean that Jehovah is not guiding us or with us, we don't leave a child when they are trying their best do we? But when that child even though they are embarrassed by their mistake continues to try and try don't we love them all the more for it? Many churches have changed their doctrines time and again over the years, the only difference between us and them is that we keep on trying and do not lower the Bible's standards because its hard to live by thereby showing the sincerity of our heart.

Why are you asking? Are you trying to find a loophole in this particular religion so you can dismiss it all together? To answer your question, J.W.s are in the business of translating the bible in order to come to an accurate knowledge of the bible so that they can be directed in the true path of God and led by the spirit of God. Everyone is at a different level of the truth, so the answer is true to both of those questions. When you find acuurate knowledge of the truth you are allowing the holy spirit of God to guide you. There is only one truth. : )

Dear Kate,
You need to make sure when you get an answer that it is from one of Jehovah's Witnesses? Many people out there try to miss-lead people by claiming they are. You see We are hated as Jesus said: Mathew 10:22, John 15:18-20,

What beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses set them apart as different from other religions?
(1) Bible: Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God, and instead of adhering to a creed based on human tradition, they hold to the Bible as the standard for all their beliefs.
(2) God: They worship Jehovah as the only true God and freely speak to others about him and his loving purposes toward mankind. Anyone who publicly witnesses about Jehovah is usually identified as belonging to the one group—“Jehovah’s Witnesses.”
(3) Jesus Christ: They believe, not that Jesus Christ is part of a Trinity, but that, as the Bible says, he is the Son of God, the first of God’s creations; that he had a prehuman existence and that his life was transferred from heaven to the womb of a virgin, Mary; that his perfect human life laid down in sacrifice makes possible salvation to eternal life for those who exercise faith; that Christ is actively ruling as King, with God-given authority over all the earth since 1914.
(4) God’s Kingdom: They believe that God’s Kingdom is the only hope for mankind; that it is a real government; that it will soon destroy the present wicked system of things, including all human governments, and that it will produce a new system in which righteousness will prevail.
(5) Heavenly life: They believe that 144,000 spirit-anointed Christians will share with Christ in his heavenly Kingdom, ruling as kings with him. They do not believe that heaven is the reward for everyone who is “good.”
(6) The earth: They believe that God’s original purpose for the earth will be fulfilled; that the earth will be completely populated by worshipers of Jehovah and that these will be able to enjoy eternal life in human perfection; that even the dead will be raised to an opportunity to share in these blessings.
(7) Death: They believe that the dead are conscious of absolutely nothing; that they are experiencing neither pain nor pleasure in some spirit realm; that they do not exist except in God’s memory, so hope for their future life lies in a resurrection from the dead.
(8) Last days: They believe that we are living now, since 1914, in the last days of this wicked system of things; that some who saw the events of 1914 will also see the complete destruction of the present wicked world; that lovers of righteousness will survive into a cleansed earth.
(9) Separate from the world: They earnestly endeavor to be no part of the world, as Jesus said would be true of his followers. They show genuine Christian love for their neighbors, but they do not share in the politics or the wars of any nation. They provide for the material needs of their families but shun the world’s avid pursuit of material things and personal fame and its excessive indulgence in pleasure.
(10) Apply Bible counsel: They believe that it is important to apply the counsel of God’s Word in everyday life now—at home, in school, in business, in their congregation. Regardless of a person’s past way of life, he may become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses if he abandons practices condemned by God’s Word and applies its godly counsel. But if anyone thereafter makes a practice of adultery, fornication, homosexuality, drug abuse, drunkenness, lying, or stealing, he will be disfellowshipped from the organization.
