2 times he (my boyfriend) has told me that he loves me while he's been drunk (over the phone). Only those 2 times. My only reply is "you're wasted." I don't say it back. So tonight I texted him "no more drunken 'I love you's' If we get to that point of a sober one then maybe- whatever, but until then... no more drunk ones would be good. K buddy?" No response from him... so I wrote "not upset about it. and if u want I'll talk to you later."
Heres my question.. I still haven't heard back from him. How would you guys take this if you're girlfriend did what I did?? I was hoping he'd be glad I was being realistic and even find it a challenge (b/c most girls probably would've gotten excited and said I love you so much too)

would you really be offended by the "k buddy" part? I meant it to lighten the issue up.. not offend.

Okay, I felt bad, so sent one last text that said "hey sexy man! didn't mean for the 'k buddy' part to sound rude or offensive, just tried lightening the text up. Anyway I'm out 4 the nite. Goodnite sweetness!" Is that good damage control? :)

Rule #1: Never drunk call...
I'm with you. If he can't say the words while sober he doesn't mean them. Someone's personality can and will change a whole lot when they're drunk.
If you don't hear back from him, then it's his loss and his problem. Sounds like you're the mature one in the relationship.
And what would I do? If you called me on the carpet for saying it drunk I'd think you were girl who wouldn't take crap and knew what they wanted out of life.

Yeah I agree with you, he should be happy that you were cool about it but he is probably just embarressed. Maybe he does think he loves you but he really should man up about his feelings and not wait until he is drunk because thats where most girls would get confused and get hurt. Glad you realize the difference. Good Luck.

Alcohol, as we all know, diminishes inhibitions. He is telling you that while he is drunk, and means it, I'm sure. The issue I would have is that he is out of touch with his emotions unless he is drinking? careful here, this guy doesnt sound like he has a Phd in intimacy.

I think you have a pretty together set of sensibilities and they stunned him a bit....he's probably scratching his head somewhere wondering what to do next. He'll be back. (He may have been using alcohol as a crutch to say what he's wanted to say for awhile, in which case, he'll be soberly informing you of this fairly soon). Nice job.

You are a hell of a girl. Honesty is a rare quality in anyone male or female. If it were me you were talking to I would be at your door step with flowers and an apology.
