Holy Tradition (both sacred and apostolic) is how the authentic Church actually understands, practices, and transmits the faith.

Tradition may be written or oral.

Tradition is ultimately a function of the Holy Spirit, who guides the church, from age to age.

Theologians call this teaching of the Scriptures "the Apostolic Tradition." It encompasses what the Apostles lived, saw, witnessed and later recorded in the books of the new Testament. Apostolic Tradition was transmitted from the Apostles themselves to their successors, the bishops and the presbyters.

One can clearly see how the message of salvation originating from God the Father was taught by Jesus Christ, witnessed to by the Holy Spirit, preached by the Apostles and was transmitted by them to the Church through the clergy they themselves appointed. This became the "unerring tradition of the Apostolic preaching" as it was expressed by Eusebius of Caesarea, bishop of the fourth century, who is considered the "father" of Church History.

Good question, brother.

The traditions that have been handed down from the Apostles and the traditions that we have come to understand as having been part of, yet unwritten, in the function of the early Church.

Holy Tradition is what Jesus taught orally to the Apostles and what the Apostles taught orally to the people. Which carried on for many years.

there is no HOLY TRADITION there are traditions that are used by churches to control people & get money (like pergatory) Here's what Jesus said about traditions

(Matthew 15:1-9) 15 Then there came to Jesus from Jerusalem Pharisees and scribes, saying: 2 “Why is it your disciples overstep the tradition of the men of former times? For example, they do not wash their hands when about to eat a meal.” 3 In reply he said to them: “Why is it YOU also overstep the commandment of God because of YOUR tradition? 4 For example, God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Let him that reviles father or mother end up in death.’ 5 But YOU say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother: “Whatever I have by which you might get benefit from me is a gift dedicated to God,” 6 he must not honor his father at all.’ And so YOU have made the word of God invalid because of YOUR tradition. 7 YOU hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about YOU, when he said, 8 ‘This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines. . .
