There are 3 types of skin cancer:
Basal cell carcinoma is the most common and it is likely that your doctor can cure it.
Squamous cell carcinoma, if detected early, can be cured.
Melanoma is the worst and could result in death. With a family history of melanoma, you could get it even if you've never been out in the sun.
Untreated skin cancers can quickly spread to the lymphatic system and cause secondary tumors anywhere in your body. Cancer does not go away on its own and pretending everything is alright is a quick way to an early grave.

I have a rare skin cancer called basel cell nevus syndrome, and I have had it since I was a child and I'm 43. I am always having to get treatments for it. The mostly deadly of the skin cancers is malinoma if caught early it can possibly be treated, if it's not it will kill you. If you even have a thought you might have skin cancer, you need to go see a dermotologist. Better safe than sorry

you can die if you don't get it treated right away, If you get a type of skin cancer which there are three different kinds: malignant melanoma..the most dangerous, usually a mole that changes, there is squamous cell cancer, they are raised, bumpy lesions...basal cell cancer, pearly or waxy nodules with crater....if you get one of these skin cancers you are likely to get another, so once you've had the first on cured it's good to have regular exams to make sure nothing new developes, skin cancer can be treated but if not treated you can eventually get real sick and even die.

Yes, it's possible to die from certain kinds of skin cancer if they aren't caught and treated early.
Skin cancer is the most common of all cancers, accounting for as much as half of all cancer diagnoses, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS). Skin cancer is divided into two main categories – melanoma and non-melanoma.

Most forms of skin cancer can be treated sometimes it requires for the area of skin cancer to be removed by a dermatoligist. There is one form of skin cancer that is very deadly. my husband and step-father have both survived skin cancer. Protect yourself when outside by using a sun screen.

Yes. You can die from any type of cancer.
"Cancer is a class of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell division and the ability of these cells to invade other tissues, either by direct growth into adjacent tissue (invasion) or by migration of cells to distant sites (metastasis). This unregulated growth is caused by a series of acquired or inherited mutations to DNA within cells, damaging genetic information that define the cell functions and removing normal control of cell division. "
And even if you do treat cancer, you can still die from it.

Yes. In fact, because of attitudes like this, it can be very deadly.
Edit: IGNORE THE PERSON BELOW ME. "Alternative" treatments are placebo at best, and WILL VERY LIKELY KILL YOU. Use medical treatments primarily and alternative medicine ONLY IF YOU ARE TALKING MEDICALLY APPROVED TREATMENTS.

Yes! You don't have to treat it "their way," however. There are alternative treatments... If I survive, I'll tell you what they were!
