Meaningful ENFORCEMENT would include mandatory immigration checks of people incarcerated In our FEDERAL PRISONS,make It mandatory that ALL UNITED STATES employers use BASIC PILOT,require that State Police determine the immigration status,of anyone arrested for DUI,or any FELONY. That would be a good starting point, wouldn't you say?

I don't think amnesty will ever pass now, enforcement or not. There was too much backlash. The congress had lost touch with the people.

The dogs tried to sneak it through by keeping it secret. They will pay for that.

I am not in favor of Amnesty for Illegals. I watched a Lou Dobbs today and the host was talking about immigration. The big thing was how the US government has employed thousands of illegals and states have a large number. This is not to mention the corporations. Microsoft has a facility in BC Canada in strong opposition of the immigration policies. So you can see that the tech communities that are not commenting are looking for global answers to software and Corporations that are technical are affected as well as corporate farms and food processors. Car manufactures have cut benefits based on the workers that have zero benefits and have held the unions off with illegal workers.
Our government is doing nothing and trying to make you accept that nothing will get done. You will finally accept that prices are high because we can not get labor done at a reasonable price. American workers are getting the shaft and we are going to let it happen over time and feel it is a good thing. I hate that we do that. I got my gas and felt good that I was paying only $3.12.9 last year it was $2.50. It is like government is taxing us over and over again. There is still holes in the road!

The only meaningful border enforcement would be to shoot those who try to cross illegally! I hate to see that happen, but that is really all that will work, they must fear being killed before trying to cross over that border. They have no fear now, other than being rounded up & sent back. Then the next night/day they are right back crossing again. We either have to put some teeth into the illegal crossings or just forget about it. The American people don't want to forget about it, they want it stopped. I guess we must decide just how badly we want it stopped & take measures to really stop it, not continue the way we have in the past. Perhaps we should be in Mexico trying to teach the Mexican people about democracy & how to get it! I don't hate those people & I understand why they want to come here. They want to feed their families & they can't do it staying in Mexico because they can't buy land & the government is corrupt & will not help them. Their government is happy to see them come here, they want them gone. Just look at the indignation the government of Mexico showed when they learned that we were not going to give amnisty to those 12/20 million already here!

God I hope not. Now I am in favor of anyone coming to this country legally, In fact my fiance will be arriving here on a fiance visa in August from the Philippines. The USA doesn't need to any new laws on the book. We just need politicians who have the courage to enforce the laws we all ready have in place. We as a society need to understand that boarder control should be our number one factor in security in the USA. Anyone remember 9/11 where how did these people come into our country by Canada crossing the boarder illegally. We as country can not allow this to happen any longer. do we need another 9/11 then find out they cross the boarder from Mexico. Just ee inforce the laws we already have. Fine the employers who hire illegal aliens. think about this we as americans need a passport now to travel to Mexico but at the same time say it is ok for Mexicans to come into our country illegally.

Describe meaningful enforcement relative to what is going on now, including an accurate description of what is going on now.

Of course. The big show now is the North American Trade and Commerce Agreement. That means no borders between Canada,U.S., and Mexico. To uphold laws now would set that back.

It will never happen here, and the ones that are here will be leaving as well, sooner or later, one way or another. Our country is smart and strong, I have faith in our country. God Bless America.
