it happens to everyone. you'll calllus up soon. either suck it up or put some wax on it.

hey girl.
i've had this same problem.
if the wire is sticking out from the last bracket on your farthest tooth back..then they should be able to trim the wire shorter so it won't get caught on your cheeck.

however. if you mean the little hook things used for rubberbands on your brackets..then unforuntally there is nothing you can do to ease the pain on your cheeck. you COULD put wax on the hook..but your body would never get used to it and you would need to keep wax on it 24/7.

but, after about a week or so of not using any wax..your mouth will form a callase (sp?) and it wont hurt. :]

sorry..braces are VERY painful. hope you feel better!! =)

it is normal to have that happen when i had braces it did the same thing and even after i had the wires changed each visit it did it, try gargling and rinsing your mouth out with warm salt water ( just warm water and several teaspoonfuls of salt) it always made my mouth feel better and helps heal the sore, be sure to mix it well and don't drink it rinse and then spit it out! idon't use the water at the very bottom of the glassif you have too much salt and not enough water it burns like fire. This works for me it may work for you too just a suggestion, Hope it feels better soon! Wax helps too, but if that doesn't work i would defiently go back to the orthordontist

Get some braces wax and put it on the parts that are catching. It helps while your mouth toughens up. If it is really bad, then call your orthodontist tomorrow and they will fix it for you.

The dentist should've given you wax... You put it over any sharp spots on your braces and when you cheek passes over it, it won't catch... If you use the wax and still have discomfort I would see the dentist again and have him adjust your hooks... Good luck

Generally when you get braces they give you wax just for that problem. I'd ask your dentist for wax. Your other option may be to use cotton.

go to the orthodontist and ask for the wax stuff to put on the wire so it won't hurt your cheek anymore.

it's normal, espically for the beginning. make sure there are no long wires. they have wax to put over your braces to prevent this. eventually when you have eaten and gotten use to your braces, it doesn't hurt anymore

Ask your orthodontist for wax.

i had a problem like this, only it was more in the front, above my canine teeth. this is caused by not brushing your teeth and gumline well enough, and the gums become irritated and swell up. the advice my ortho gave me was to brush the gums really well. it was a little painful at first, but the swelling went down in a few days.
