In order to reduce the effects of Global Warming you must cut carbon dioxide emissions world wide to less than one tenth of what they are today.
In order to accomplish that you must shut down all transportation systems world wide.
There can be no more automobiles, mototrscooters, motorcycles, buses, trains, planes, and shipping world wide.
Next you must shut down all manufacturing world wide.
Next you must shut down all steel making and cement making world wide.
Next you must stop the heating of all homes, offices, and factories even when it is below zero degrees outside.
Next you must stop the heating of all water for washing and bathing.
The people world wide must learn to bathe in cold water.
Next you must stop the heating of all food.
You must get the cooperation of every nation on this planet.
The People's Republic of China has already said that they will not cooperate in any reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, and that they consider any attempt to force them to cut bact their carbon dioxide emissions to be an act of war.
The People's Republic of China alone emits enough carbon dioxide to cause Global Warming.
You do not want to go to war with The People's Republic of China. That would reallyt cause Global Warming.
The cuts in carbon dioxide emissions that you get from more recycling, turning out the lights and buying hybrid cars are so small and insignificant that they have no effect on Global Warming.
Fortunately it is easy to mitigate the egffects of Global Warming.
The sea levels will rise.
The way you handle that is you build dike systems for the low lying areas similar to those in Holland.
Hurricanes will become stronger and more frequent. the way you handle that is you upgrade the disaster preparedness systems that you already have in place.
There will be more droughts. The way you handle that is you provide aupplemantal water supplies and desalination plants to the affected areas.
Global Warming cannot be stopped because you cannot get the cooperation of polluters like The People's Republic of China, however you can mitigate the effects of Global Warming relatively easily and inexpensively.

I think they may be suffering from denial. I understand why they would want global warming to be fantasy. The efforts we will have to undertake to curb and reverse the trend will be costly, extensive, and change the lifestyles of many, especially Americans. I am just worried that their blind eye is wasting valuable needed time. I hope that we do not wait so long that it becomes too late. I know where I live we have only had 3/10s of an inch of rain since the end of May. Farmers are irrigating and only those using sprinklers have any lawn left. Global warming forecasts droughts and then heavy rains that cause flooding. We've seen flooding in the south this summer and drought over the eastern part of the nation. It seems like it might be worse than it was meant to be.

i think that man definitly has a lot to do with golbal warming. if you look at the data concerning the change in the climate throughout history, the first large spike occured during the first industrial revolution in europe way back when. and then another large spike came during the second industrial revolution in the 19th century. at this time people started using things like coal and other types of fuel in mass amounts. factories were popping up everywhere which led to mass polution. this is when the rapid change in the climate started. now we use things like gas and oil in mass amounts and that has led to even more pollution in the world and is speeding up the natural effects of golbal warming. it's like now people can live without gas and oil, but we also can't live without an earth..people need to start seeing that...global warming is a natural thing that happens...we will go from where we are now to another ice age and back..the cycle will contine...it is inevitable...but it doesn;t have to happen that soon. man didn't make golbal warming persay, but we most certainly are fueling the fire and speeding up the process

There is global warming, there is little doubt about that. The question is - Is man to blame?
There is nothing really magical about climate, it's just an average of recorded measurements. The problem is that when compared to the history of the planet or even the human race we have only been recording climate data for a very short ammount of time. We have been doing so accurately an even shorter amount of time. Yes, we can take ice core samples and guess what the temperatures were like thousands or millions of years ago but it is all still just a guess.
Imagine flipping a coin and recording the results. If you get:
1 Heads
2 Heads
3 Heads
you may logically conclude that the coin will only come up as "heads". But if your next three flips come up
4 Tails
5 Tails
6 Tails
you can conclude that, on average, the odds of getting heads or tails are identical. You may also conclude that something has changed and is causing only tails to come up. Maybe you are flipping the coin the same every time but the first three times you started heads up and the last three tails up? Maybe you are holding your arm higher? Maybe you are now letting it hit the ground instead of catching it? Maybe law of averages is catching up to you?
So maybe we've been living in a "cool" age and the climate is coming back to normal. Maybe the climate is warming? No one really knows for sure. Rest assured, it's done it before and man has survived, even flourished.

Global Warming may be partially natural - but it's gotta be at least a little man made. if global warming were purely natural, it would not be progressing this fast. we are making a natural cycle worse by emitting so much CO2. If we stopped or at least cut down on CO2 usage, global warming would be stopped, or at least significantly slowed.

There is such thing as global warming and it is taking affects for example " Heat waves and periods of unusually warm weather " Ocean warming, sea-level rise and coastal flooding " Glaciers melting " Arctic and Antarctic warming
*
HARBINGERS: Events that foreshadow the types of impacts likely to become more frequent and widespread with continued warming.
*Spreading disease
*Earlier spring arrival
*Plant and animal range shifts and population changes
*Coral reef bleaching
*Downpours, heavy snowfalls, and flooding
*Droughts and fires
Maybe you could search for " plant a tree" because planting a tree helps to suck up the carbon dixoe !!

Ya know , that is the first "Smart" Statement I've heard.
I gottta be honest, I don't believe global warming because when I was young, it was Global cooling, We would enter a new ice age and freeze, Then it was pollution, by the year 2000 we would all be living in terrariums and wearing gas masks, then it was no oil, we would all have electric cars,( how would they make the electricity? Haven't figured that out yet). Then it was all the water would be polluted, and then it was all the rain forests would be gone by 2005. It's all just nonsensical garbage, it is the rich people's way of getting you to give up more stuff so they can use it while you do without.

Yes, and we can also be cooling more than was meant to be. Man has removed more forest than meant to be, and in some places, like the US, added more forest than was meant to be. We have killed off animals that were meant to be alive and saved animals that were meant to be extinct.
But it really comes down to what you believe is "meant" to be.
You could argue that we weren't meant to wear clothes, or live in homes, ride around in vehicles, have electricity, television, AC, internet, movies, war ...where do you draw the line?
Maybe we are meant to be more than another animal species on this planet. Maybe we are meant to consume resources and ultimately alter our surroundings. That in no way absolves us from abusing this privilege and acting with all due responsibility.
Live the life you believe you were meant to live while trying to decrease your negative impact on the environment.

The current warming isn't natural--its mana-made. The scientific evidence is conclusive on that point.
Some people also believe the Earth is flat, evolution doesn't exist, and in Santa Claus, Bigfoot, aliens, and the Tooth Fairy. That doesn't mean we shuld take them seriously.

The important thing is that you believe. It doesn't matter that the facts don't support your belief. We respect your right to believe in anything you want to.
It's called religion, and "global warming" is your religion. Just don't push that religion on others.
Btw, if you want some real facts on global climate, click on the link below and scroll down to the "global warming test". I found this recently and I think it sums up the facts I've read on the subject for the last few years.
