I am so confused. Why are there so many sects? Will they all be able to go to Heaven or whatever according to Allah?

The Quran is mostly very literal stuff.

Most of it to do with daily social rules of conduct. Like how to behave towards others, how to eat, how to sleep, how to worship, how to serve other people, and God etc.

There are some verses that need a deeper understanding and those call in for more reading into things like: Sunnah

The history of the Quran is explained like this: every verse in the Quran has been sent to Prophet Muhammad before or after an event. That is they were directly related to things that have or would have happened to him.

What does this mean to you? This means that knowing his history and life story, would show you when and why each verse came down.

Literally speaking, there is no interpretation involved when reading the Quran. If you know Arabic, and have a dictionary of Arabic-Arabic words, then you have no problem understanding it because its all very clear.

There are however scholars of 'fiqh'.

Fiqh is the science of taking general rules mentioned in the Quran, and creating real life solutions to real life problems.

The Quran does not contain explicit details about small things. Thus to understand how we need to act about modern issues, we take the general rules and interpret them to the modern issues.

Sects will do their own interpretations yes, but these interpretations are all related to small details and they cannot play around with the general interpretation of the Quran because its all too clear to need any intepretation :)

Hope this helps

there r basically 2 main sects
1 sunis
2 shiates
they r both right in the fundamental beliefs but have a few differences.
i think christianity has more sects than islam
if u listen to both sides, each has a convincing belief. so it depends on which 1 u think makes more sense to u

none of them are right or wrong, per se. it's just an interpretation.
just like looking at the clouds with your friends. you see a cloud and it looks like a lion's head to you. your friend sees the same cloud and thinks it resembles a pirate. neither of you is wrong, it's just a point of view.

in this case, if youre wondering which sect to follow... i wouldnt follow any of them. just try your hardest to be a good person

Maybe the question you should ask is--are any of them right or could they all be wrong?
