For the record, I'm an agnostic, and equate God with the origin of everything, no dogma attached. I have no doubt evolution exists, as well as the Big Bang.

The point is that judging that which is unknowable in terms that are knowable IS FUNNY! You guys need to lighten up.

" But to the wicked, God says:
"What right have you to recite my laws
or take my covenant on your lips?
You hate my instruction
and cast my words behind you.
When you see a thief, you join with him;
you throw in your lot with adulterers.
You use your mouth for evil
and harness your tongue to deceit.
You speak continually against your brother
and slander your own mother's son.
These things you have done and I kept silent;
you thought I was altogether like you.
But I will rebuke you
and accuse you to your face.
"Consider this, you who forget God,
or I will tear you to pieces, with none to rescue:
He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me,
and he prepares the way
so that I may show him the salvation of God."
Psalm 50:16-23

You are correct. I can see why atheists might appear arrogant or audacious for psychoanalyzing God.
Among the more irritating consequences of our flagrantly religious society is the special dispensation that mainstream religions receive. We all may talk about religion as a powerful social force, but unlike other similarly powerful institutions, religion is not to be questioned, criticized or mocked.
— Natalie Angier
"Words ought to be a little wild for they are the assault
of thoughts on the unthinking."
— John Maynard Keynes
The third major characteristic of God - "infinitude" - is the catchall, the universal modifier of Christian theology. God is not merely a being; he is infinite being. God is not merely good; he is infinite goodness. God is not merely wise; he is infinite wisdom. And so on down the list. God is exaggeration run amuck.
— George H. Smith
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
— The Riddle of Epicurus (ca. 341-270 B.C.E.)

Well, you don't have to believe in Ra to analyze the beliefs of the ancient Egyptians, nor in Odin to write operas about the Norse gods. Christianity is no more valid than any other religion, but since it totally consumes so much of modern life, it's well worth studying as a social and economic phenomenon.

thats stupid because think of it a a character from a book or something. You know the character is not real and was just made up by the author, but if the character is a jerk in the story then you can conclude that he is a jerk.

I don't think you'll find any atheist analyzing something that doesn't exist. Though many may analyze why the gullible and insecure need to believe in a god.

Yes: a Christian dogmatically assuming he or she has all the answers and a monopoly over truth, even though there are tens of thousands of other religions, and 66% of the world currently disagrees with you.

What, I can't think a fictional character is a jerk? I mean, I never liked Darth Vader, thought he was a meanie. I don't believe he exists, but I know he's a villain.

Yes: a religious individual believing he knows what God thinks and does.
If someone is provided with certain traits, these can be analyzed. The problem is the traits that are given to God... and those are provided by the religious.
