Don't find any offensive. I am very comfortable with my faith. If someone else doesn't like it...so be it. I also like to believe that each person that is saying one of those, is simply trying to do what they feel is best for me. How could I be offended by someone caring about me?

I associate all three statements with people who are trying to convert me. The next line is usually a claim that only through worshiping the way that they do, will I get to heaven. That is often followed by an incorrect translation from the Bible. I usually correct the translation (much to the converter's surprise) and then explain that my religion believes that the righteous of all peoples have a place in the world to come. By this time, the older of the visiting pair is often dragging the younger one out with him/her so that (s)he would not become contaminated with different ideas and actually think. I often suspect that the younger one is sent for "reeducation".

I've heard C any number of times, and I tend to find it wearisome. Maybe I'm numb from having heard it so much. B is very presumptuous, and the judgmental speaker assumes that they're somehow more enlightened than everyone else, so that's probably the most offensive. I've heard A, too, and it just comes off sounding weird when people start babbling about the devil lurking around every corner, or evil in the hearts of strangers (and it's usually strangers who say that stuff to me). It makes you not want to share a bus seat with them, that's for sure.

A. The concept of a devil is hilarious at best and a way for lazy people to shirk responsibility for the own actions.
B. Your only in darkness if you chose to believe instead think for your self. Belief in God stunts your intellectual curiosity which leaves you in the dark.
C. Having an obsession for material things is part of human nature. Practice moderation in all things.

They are not offensive they are a description of how insensitive and short sighted some humans can be. Especially when it comes to our faith, not only do we have to fight off the ways of the Devil and those that would like to see us fail, but we find ourselves become stumbling blocks amongst ourselves. We should be building each other up regardless of our faith or beliefs, it is through our actions that we show our love.

I don't find any offensive really but I think B is the LEAST offensive. C doesn't make sense to me, I mean I understand the sentance but cannot see how it can pertain to me. A is last but doesn't seem so offensive....although I would hate to have evil in my heart.

Least offensive - C
More offensive - B
Most offensive - A
C is the least offensive because the person saying it is just mistaken or misunderstanding of my beliefs. They are wrong in their observations and understanding.
B is a bit more offensive because it is a judgement on me personally.
A is most offensive because it is attacking the Chruch that I am a member of and the leaders and teachers of the Church.

If they are said to me with love and from a Christian that I respect their 'fruits' then none are offensive and I would hope that I could see what they are telling me and change my ways to be a better witness to those around me.

neither are offensive for they describe me to a "T". each of them says that I am a sinner and that I have at least one time in my life broken 1 or all of the commandments. they neither suggest that I live in sin, nor take sin for granted, rather , they describe humankinds struggle in this live quite well.
if you are offended by this, it likely means that it is true, to some extent, about you!

These do not offend me. I am only offended when I allow myself/ choose to be.
These are from the holy book of a religion that is different from my own. Nothing more, nothing less.
