hi, im afraid you have a hard job ahead, they need to be apart for around 3 weeks, some finish early and others go longer. I would personally get one of them done if you dont want to breed, that way it is safer. He might cry, and be a real pain because he wants her. If he did get in with her and they tie, you can take her to the vets 2 days after for an injection and then another one 2 days after the first, this will stop any unwanted litters, it the same as us with the morning after pill. Good luck.

they usually can breed at 14 - 21 days but I would say keep him away for about 3 weeks to be safe just like people it can vary and there is no way to be absolutely sure teh heat itself should last 3 weeks but again can vary.
I don't know if you are planning on breeding but if not this would be a good time to have her fixed if not you should wait until she is 2 years old and had all her genetic testing along with teh male before breeding.

Female dogs spend about 7 days coming into heat.... 7 days acceptive to breeding and abuty 7 days going out of heat. I would keep him away from her for a full 21 days.

take advice from the breeder you bought your pup from. She will be in season for around another 7 days, depending on what the mothers cycle was like. Also the first one generally lasts the longest.

Please keep your dog away from her at the moment as if he catches her you will end up with puppies and the dog is too young

Females are in heat for about 22 days. So if you can count back to when she started her heat that will tell you. If not than another 3 weeks to a month to be very safe.

Now that she is coming up to 3/4 of her season and her most receptive...she will WANT to be mated with so beware...Why not go for the sensible option and have them both done??? An uncastrated male who is partnered with a female in season is going to be protective of her, this can end up with unwanted attention from other male dogs and could possibly lead to confrontation...which neither dog needs or wants. Please please consider this option for future reference.

your vet can give you tablets or an injection to stop the season especially as she,s too toung to mate at the moment if your considering mating the best time will be when she,s eighteen months old or her third season whichever comes first

They are fertile 21 days from the first day the bleeding started. I would keep him away for an extra couple days, just to be sure.
