Just something along the lines of "I'll be there for you if you ever need me" or simply "Thinkng of you." Being currently depressed right now, one of my biggest problems is I feel no one is there for me, and that no one cares how I'm doing, and pretty much that no one cares about me period. Getting a card would honestly cheer me up, just to know that at least one person care.

You're a social worker - what do you SAY to people in a depressive episode or a bipolar flare-up? Say that in a card - I might not want to read anything "uplifting" when I'm struggling, but when there's a break in the clouds the card will still be there saying the same thing - it won't be forgotten like the spoken word can be - or misinterpreted, which is also a biggie for people whose illnesses are doing their thinking for them.

BTW - why would you ask strangers to write your cards for you - if I knew just what to say, don't you think I'd have my OWN unique line of greeting cards?

Jus' keepin' it real.

the indicators you checklist right here do sound like BD, and if this individual has this situation there is not any selection to scientific care. melancholy itself can each and every so often be taken care of without drugs, yet that's no longer the case with BD. “The mortality of sufferers with temper subject concerns is larger for this reason no longer purely of suicides and injuries yet in addition of cardiovascular and different ailments — case in point, hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism. long-term drugs can decrease suicides by ability of two-thirds and can probable decrease non-suicidal mortality additionally.” from “long-term result and Mortality of taken care of as against Untreated Bipolar and Depressed sufferers” in international mag of Psychiatry in medical practice, quantity 2, project 2, June 1998, pages one hundred fifteen-119. additionally, a affected person age 17 desires guidance from a expert greater suitable than an grownup. this is difficulty-unfastened sense. If there is situation approximately ingredient outcomes, evaluate that we are no longer talking approximately anti-depressants.

Very simple - "thinking of you" cards with very little detail - just a note so you know I am thinking of you - for bipolar depressed and depression. Quite frankly there is no card that could be appropriate for someone who is manic .. we don't need cards - we are doing great! What we need to be is commited to be safe from ourselves - can't think of a catch phrase for that. How about "Not to pop your balloon but.... can you come back down to earth now?"

Hmmmm...in reflecting back on the days of darkness in my life the last thing I would have wanted was a greeting card. Just being honest. I really wanted everyone to leave me alone whether it be via phone, in person, email or snail mail. Everyone's different though.

I don't mean to be rude but the thought of a greeting card for depression just sounds sick. Are you trying to poke fun at people who suffer from this?

Why would I get the greeting card? I know that when I am depressed enough I won't even check my mail for days let alone read a greeting card. The best thing for someone who is depressed is NOT pity.

How much will you be paying for the writing that you use? Or will you just put someone's writing on a card and sell it without obtaining a release? Do you understand your obligations regarding copyrighted material?

if the card was for me and i were in my "depressed state" i could apprieciate something like..." if you have open this card and are successful in killing yourself w/ paper cuts from the card i sent ...'can i have your stuff?" if i was manic and opened a card sent to me, the person sending the card should definately ask, " can i go shopping w/ you? im broke but can pay you back when you are depressed and forget that i owe you $"

I would say
depression - something that would give them hope ( a quote or someone famous who got better)
bipolar - something to get that good side of them ( a joke, a funny picture) something to make them smile and laugh
both of them
