I am getting married next June, 2008. My fiance's brother is who we would like to have marry us. However, he is not ordained. I have heard one might get ordained through the internet, but have no idea where to start or if it's legitimate. I am sure he will need some kind of certificate or license.. then again, I am lost on the entire process. Help!

Check with your state though. I hear some states are cracking down on the whole ordained and who has a right to marry you thing.

try The Universal Life Church. I've actually spoken to people whose officiate was ordained through them. Ordination is free, and they have a free print-out certificate, but the really nice, decorated, 'official looking' certificate is something like $5 from there site. But the ordination process is easy and painless.
B-) Whether or not this works will depend upon the state you are getting married in.

Good luck!

Anybody can get ordained on the internet -- I am a Reverend - BUT SO IS MY CAT, TAFFY!!!
You need to check with your state regulations as to what is required for an officiant to be legal and above board.

Terri is correct. And there are Bills being introduced in certain states as well.
Some states, like here in Ohio, require you to be licensed by the State, as well. So what you need to do is call your Secretary of State to find out who is & is not allowed to perform marriages in your state.
