Only Bush can really answer why we are in Iraq. He's changed his reasons more often than I change my underware.
Bush is staying in Iraq, not because of the war on terror, or keeping America safe.. ( every study shows terrorism has increased world-wide under Bush)he's staying there because all his buddies are making record profits off the blood of our soldiers.
Don't believe that? Explain how the Cheney's made about $150 grand a year before the war and last year reported an income of 8 1/2 million?! Explain how all the major corporations are making record profits off this war? It used to be considered treason to engage in war profiterring, now Bush embraces it.
Personally, I believe Bush stays in Iraq to preserve some sort of "legacy." A legacy that he hopes will not be one of the worst ever in the history of the United States.
It takes 8 weeks to train our own soldiers, yet the Iraqi's have taken over 6 years and still cannot "stand up" for this government?
Why? Because they will never defend a government that they believe is an arm of the U.S. They are too loyal to their individual religious sects. We are training Iraqi death squads in the Iraqi government...we are training our own killers.
Bush deserves impeachment. Anyone who believes he is a good president is brain dead and simply ignores the facts.
God bless America.

Bush, an Ashkenazi Jew, hopes to kill as many 'goyim' (American troops) as possible, while at the same time destroying and bankrupting our beloved Republic, and replacing it with a totalitarian dictatorship.
Bush is a globalist, Zionist pig, with no allegiance to the USA or the American taxpayer whatsoever. The troops should be here at home protecting us from the Zionists that have occupied Washington DC and threaten our freedoms and existence as a free sovereign nation ruled by the people.

well if you have to ask then you either live in a cave or under a rock. It has been since 2003 and if you are still asking this question you must be part of the naive liberal pacifists that seem to be spreading. If your not then look around an look on the net, do some research. Check out the car bombs that the suicidal crazies are trying to do in London. Perhaps you might look at Saddam and see what he did in Iraq. How about the shallow graves of political prisoners with bullets in their skulls. How about the bastard children of Saddam who on brides honeymoon night would kidnap them and rape them till they were dead or near death, how about torturing their athletes in the olympics for losing, how about Saddam using chemical weapons on the Kurds. Have you ever seen what chemical weapons do to somebody? Of course not cause you have the luxury of sitting at home being ignorant of what is going on in the world. Why do you have that luxury? Cause of those very same soldiers that you ask why are they in Iraq.

It sounds like you need to read up a little, to get a bit more clued up on the world arround you.
Instead of asking questions like that on this website, maybe you should use the internet to do a little research for yourself.
If you ask questions like that here you will generally get replies from either:
Liberal hippys, with questionable ethics, that are convinced that there is a war in iraq (even though the war ended in 2003), but don't think that the military should be allowed to do its job.
Or "Patriots"* who think 'Them thar Iraquis just need a good whoopin'.
Its rare you'll find anyone on here to give you a fair, honest and most importantly informed answer about the state of affairs in Iraq.
*I use the word "Patriots" in its loosest sense here

The US is in Iraq for the same reasons it destroyed the Iranian DEMOCRATICALLY elected government in 1953; for the same reason the US has militarily, economically and politically fully supported viscious murdering right wing dictators throughout the region for the past 100 years ; for the same reason it fully supported Saddam between 1979 and 190 eventhough he had committed a crime against humanity /genocide against his own Kurds ;for the same reason the US to this day fully supports vile dictatorships in the Middle East from Saudi Arabia to Egypt,
The reason of course for these and many more US atrocities in the region is all for OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL OIL and to ensure that Americans have a stable flow of oil at relatively cheap prices so they can drive their obscene gas guzzling SUVs.
