I don't think there's much need to book anything other than coach. I fly almost 100 times a year and always book coach (although I have enough frequent flier miles that I get upgraded to first class more often than not). But coach is fine. Any airline except United is okay. Avoid United like the plague. With all the unsanitary conditions I've seen on United planes (you don't want to know), you very well might get the plague.

The real answer here is NO! You may suffer a little but coach is bearable and much cheaper than business or first. That being said, Business class really helps you on long hauls and international flights. Being able to sleep comfortably helps you beat the Jet-lag quicker and being able to use the VIP lounges with their free food, entertainment, computers and bathroom facilities.(showers in many of these) is really desirable. So... Do as your budget dictates and have a good trip. It might be a good idea to do a really early check in and ask for the Escape hatch seating. They don't give these out early because they have to see you to determine whether you are physically strong enough to help out in an emergency. The extra leg room can be a blessing on long flights. Also, window seats are good just because you can lean against the wall instead of up against the horrible person sitting next to you. good luck!

Yes, depending on how long the flight is and how big you are. For example some airlines like United take away legroom from the lowest booking class in order to up-sell people to "Economy Plus" seating. I have been in the regular economy and it is painful being tall. Now I make my job pay for the $29-$39 each SEGMENT to upgrade if I must fly United. Business and First Class are definitely nice for longer trips, but you will have to pay for it.

Airlines are all pretty similar, so if timing is important, you might want to check their on-time statistics.
If I could afford it, I would fly business or first class all the time. However, not being independently wealthy, I always fly coach.
First and business have bigger, more comfortable seats (some fold down into sleepers, nice for international flights), better food, and more obsequious flight attendants.

I always book First Class because I always want to have guaranteed comfort wheather my flight is 1.5hrs long or 18hrs long. Coach seats were always just overall too small for me. If you are a smaller person it will be fine. I also always book First Class for access to Airline Departure Lounges!

It depends on how long the trip is.... And how comfortable you want to be.
Personally, I wouldn't book 1st class.... Its not worth it.
Midwest has great cookies! Lol, :)
It depends where you're flying. Most airlines I've flown on are good, so just look at prices.
