A direct flight would be approx 2 Hrs 40 Min. You can get flight times and distances for airports all over the world at http://www.jets.com/

I fly from Orlando to JFK, Fort Lauderdale to JFK, and Ft. Meyers to JFK every week.

All of the flights are 2 hours and 20 minutes average. However, you need to add at least another 30 minutes to an hour just to deal with New York. For some reason, this summer is horrible in JFK with Delta adding more regional jets out of that airport. You'll spend a half hour just finding a gate, and when you are flying back from New York, it'll be much of the same.

So the time from when you sit in your seat, til the time you get up can easily be up to four hours sometimes.
