I just adopted a Mini Dachshund from a shelter. the shelter named her sadie. I dont really like that name very much. I know he hasnt had it for long but i want to keep it AROUND the same sounding so she doesnt get confused. I know dogs go by the last sylabols is that correct? So something like Katy, Amy, ect with the E sounding at the end. She is quite tiny and cute as a button.

I always like the name "Macy" for a dachshund. Honestly, though, just name it any name that you like- the dog probably isn't that used to its name from being at the shelter, since it's a name that the shelter gave her. Most shelters just pick a name, but they don't really teach the dog it's name. So, you will have her for a long time & should pick a name that you really love! Have fun...

(My dog's name is Sadie...I like that name. :-) She's a Sheltie..a little more than 3 months old..I'd have to see a calendar to be exact :-)

Sorry, can't think of any more. And I don't know if that's true or not about the last syllable. ??

You don't have to keep the same sounding name. Dogs will adapt to any name you wish to call them.
