I put it in a tin can (like an old vegetable can) then wait until it's hardened and put it in the garbage.
Don't pour it into the sink or down your toilette.

Tammy and Maco are on the right track. Bacon grease is FOOD and it has great flavor. Ask the French. A little goes a long way though and one does have to give some thought to ones arteries. Cornbread needs the addition of a tablespoon or two of hot bacon grease in the batter and green beans have to have some as well. Fried eggs are vastly improved if cooked in a skillet that was just used to cook bacon. Whatever is left over should never be poured down the sink, unless you like paying for plumbing calls. Take it to the recyling center or perhaps it can go in your own compost heap if you go in for that sort of thing.

Hi !!!
Here you go...
Disposing of used cooking grease is an environmentally important task. There are several ways to safely dispose of it, but it should never be poured down the drain.
Instructions
1Step
Allow the oil to cool completely before disposing of it.
2Step
Decide whether the oil needs to be discarded. Oil used for deep-frying can usually be reused several times. Strain it into a clean sealable container.
3Step
To throw it away, carefully pour it into a strong sealable container, such as an old plastic jar with a lid. Many households save jars for this purpose. Plastic jars are better than breakable glass ones.
4Step
If the amount of oil is small, place the filled, sealed jar in the trash.
5Step
Take large amounts of cooking oil to the local landfill.
6Step
Alternatively, recycle large amounts of used cooking oil with the help of a cooperative local restaurant. Most restaurants have used grease bins, whose contents are recycled into consumer products. Ask if you can add your used oil to their grease bin.
7Step
Used cooking oil can also be composted with other organic matter. If you have a compost heap or a healthy backyard earthworm population, feed them kitchen scraps.
Tips & Warnings
Save sealable plastic jars or old coffee cans for disposing of old grease.
Wait until the oil has cooled completely before handling it.
Never pour oil down the drain. Even small amounts will eventually clog the plumbing.

We just pour it into the trash can or out in the woods. But we live out in the country so it's not a problem to find places to dispose of it. I do know for sure that you should NOT pour grease down the drain because it can cause problems.

I keep an empty glass jar just for that purpose. I just pour the grease into the glass jar. I will keep the jar until I fill it up. Then I throw it away.
If it starts to stink , I keep it in the refrigerator.

Down here in Alabama, we save bacon grease and re-use it for cooking. That's why our fried vegetables taste so good( green tomatoes, potatoes, okra, etc).

we use a tin can (green beans or corn can) to pour the excess grease into, place it in the freezer and let it get hard. Repeat these steps until can is full, then throw it into the trash.
