My cat got sprayed by a skunk last night/this morning.
I really need some ideas on how to get the smell gone i tried this stuff called Natures miracel but it only worked a bit. I know the best remedy is Tomato juice but my cat IS NOT going to let me do that to her?

any sugestions will help.

Sorry but the tomato juice is the only real remedy. I lived in the blue ridge mountains for 30 years. I had cats, who managed to find a way out of the house every now and then. I had several dozen raccoons and opossums, and three skunks (1 black on white, one white on black, and an albino) that I trained to come to my front porch to eat each night. To prevent them from attacking my garbage cans nightly, I put all left over food in a large roasting pan on the front porch. Unfortunately, a few times one of my cats that had managed to escape the house (all my cats had all of their shots and were fixed) got sprayed. Although the cats hated it I held them tightly at the scuff of their neck and bathed them in the tomato juice. They cats had their nails cut but I never had their claws removed. If you are worried about getting scratched, get a friend to help hold the cat and cover the feet with a wash cloth. Good luck with ridding your cat from the smell of that nasty pole cat.

I suggest you get down to the grocery and get a couple gallons of tomato juice and dip the cat. Whether or not the cat LIKES it is not an issue open to question. Next time he'll leave the skunk alone.

Tomato juice is the only thing I have ever found to really work. bath her intomato juice and give her a good scrub. Don't of course let it go over her head. If she was caught on her face and hard you will have to wash her with a wash cloth soaked in tomato juice. Of course then they need a bath, but it really does work.

Other option is if you can stand it until tomorrow take her to a groomer and they will clean her up.

NO dog, no matter the breed, should be an "outside" dog. Dogs are pack animals, they need the stability that a FAMILY LIFE gives them, not life at the end of a chain or in a fence 24/7. Dogs get frustrated very easily when they have nothing to do, and so killing things is quite possibly the only "fun" thing your dog has found to do. Either make the dog an inside dog, or give him to someone who can. Keeping the dog like that is no fair to him.

Oh dear, boy can I sympathize! That happened to a cat the family had when I was a kid.

Either you need to draft someone to help you hold the cat while you bath her, or you need to somehow cover her paws so she can't claw you to death. Bathe her in the bathroom sink, and keep the door closed so she can't escape.

Good luck!

ok dont panic, this happened to one of my moms cats. wat u want to do is wrap the cat in a towel, take it to a bucket full of tomato juice. Make sure the cat is blind folded or something and - do this quick - put it over the tamato juice drop it and run. she will lick the tomato juice off herself. Good luck
