I agree that nursing can be stressful, But I think a police officer has the most stressful job. That or our soldiers on the front line.

yes, being a nurse is stressful. you have to be on your feet all day. you have to be assertive. you have to be quick in your thinking and decision making skills. you have to deal with patients that sometimes aren't really nice, and still you have to grit your teeth and smile. you have to really care for the patients because they can feel if you really care or you don't. you have to have a good ear, because you might mistake a doctor's order. you are dealing with lives here, and one careless assessment may mean an emergency situation.

of course, every job has its own stresses. nursing is stressful, but just like the other one on top of me said, it's rewarding.

besides, you don't take your job home with you. no paperwork! yay!

I think not the nurse, but the medical administrative assistant has the more stressful job.

I can only answer for my self and my colleagues, but teaching in the U.K is a nightmare. Don't be fooled by the smiling children and long holidays.
Apparently the profession here that results in the highest level of suicides is farming.
