That's what the angels were supposed to be: ministering spirits unto Adam and Adam's descendants. But they did not all wish to do this. One of them took it upon himself to prove Adam unworthy. But that is not what God wanted to know...as if God needed to have anything pointed out to Him! (and sometimes I think serving Adam was put forth as a test, to trick that angel into showing God his dark side...) Supposedly every person has two assigned angels at all times to protect and advise them, when need be. Learning to hear them, though, can be difficult, as the angels that did not serve man are also still around and trying their best to mess things up. The obedient angels are constantly at war with the disobedient ones. The helpful ones eventually prevail, but sometimes there are serious delays.
In Daniel the speaker refers to Michael as a 'prince'. Michael is one of the 4 archangels, the others being: Gabriel, Raphael, and Phanuel.

...God placed Christ above all angels and He sits at the right hand of God...angels are dear and loyal to God, but even angels did not inherit the earth as Christ did with all who are born through Him...
I believe this verse is written to show the reader just how important Christ, the Son, is to the salvation of the world and that the angels are servants sent to minister to those who shall enter into the Kingdom

The word angel is used many different ways in the bible.
Much as the word Love is used in many different ways in the bible.
Remember that demons are also referred to as angels , especially in the book of Revelation.
As for this verse, yes, all non fallen angels are messengers (ministers) sent to us by God. You may well have entertained one today, how did you do?

The verse means just what it says.
Mankind has been placed above every other order of created being.
God has not dignified any other class of beings by becoming a fellow member of their race and dying to redeem them.
"I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way."
"....And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus."
