They certainly would. I use this avatar and check punctuation and spelling to fool people into believing in my intelligence and authority!

An article on the Harvard website? So I guess that means that when you refuse to capitalize the word "I" and don't capitalize the first letter in a sentence, that is also part of your "research?" Sorry, If I don't believe you, but as you are freely admitting you use the Internet as a means of having multiple personalities, I have no idea who I am speaking
Edit: LOL Whatever. No it is not school, but you are claiming that your writing is up to Harvard Standards. That is your claim, not mine. I went to a small community college and would never submit the messages above...an education gives one pride in their ideas and their expression. Sounds like you just want people who will tell you how great your little experiment is...It is done by many people on these boards I am sure. They just don't want to admit it since it is against Yahoo rules to have multiple accounts.

To myself - I answer all questions sincerely and as openly as I possible can - some of my contacts I know are jokesters and I can be honest enough to admit I have answered questions in kind. I have always figured that the aviator can be discreet, not what the aviator shows them to be. Take mine for example - Certainly I am not as young as it appears to be, it is just at the moment how I felt of myself - which is possibly how I wished I looked...... good luck and way to go to find this article on the Harvard web sight!!!!! Don't let the sniping comments get you down!!! I also forget to capitalize an i at times and am sure many wanting to get educated through the Internet is a good thing, whether taking courses or just self-fulfillment.

It would depend. With each avatar do you think different. If you ask smart questions and want an intelligent conversation then I for one could careless about your gender. Ask a serious question I would give a serious answer, pretend you are Paris Hilton I will pretend I am dumber than a 2nd grader (no offense to kids in the 2nd grade).

I personally dont look at the avatars so it doesnt matter to me. I have found it is how the questions were phrased has alot to do with the answers. A question asked in a rude or insulting manner will get the most rude and insultine answers.

This is a great question, and I have always wondered myself. My personal opinion, yes. However, I am a woman with no avatar and the shadow of a man's face instead.
I just couldn' t quite understand how to put an avatar up there, or would have. :-)
great question

I think there is some thing behind what you are saying. I have noticed that there is difference in how people react to my differant avatars too.

It will certainly depend on the questions you ask.
I don't use an avatar in order to prevent that bias. Then again, I don't try to pretend to be anything other than myself.
