I've always been curious what others think about this, if you are on a date with someone and you are picking up the check and notice that the waitress/waiter overcharged you on something would you call it to their attention to be corrected in front of your date? Does this make you look cheap on the date? Or, if you were the date how do you think you would respond, verbally or mentally? Thank you for your time.

It is true man, it is all about the money with women.

They do not like to pay but they do not wish for you stand up for what is right.

I did like the idea of waiting until the next day and calling the manager. Nice touch.

You could also speak in private with the wait-person. Remember it is your money. But it is not tragic, simpley smile and ask for a correction.

Like the lady said women do not like cheap-skates because it is all about the money. So sad.

The good thing is woman claim to be equals today so soon she will be treating you... unless she is a cheap-skate. LOL

This is an interesting question. When an all female group goes out to eat, we nit pick the check because it is our nature to fuss over money and occasionally we pay our own way |(lunches with co workers).
On a date, must one put on a different mask? The young and the foolish will say yes- keep up appearances.
The older and the wiser will say - No way- are you nuts? |Do you know how long it took me to earn the money for this outing?

When you go on a date, do the pay your own way first, and not a real date. Then you can learn a lot more about the other person. Is he/she worth knowing a little bit more?

Then decide.

It depends on How Much You Are Overcharged. If Its Like 20 cents then Yea You Are Pretty Cheap, But If its Like 20 dollars Your stupid If You Dont Say Something...

I would let a little mistake go by... But if it was something larger, I might ask the waiter to recalculate my bill. As a girl on the date... I wouldn't think you were a cheap skate if it was over a significant amount. If it was a buck.. I'd probably laugh and feel like i should have ordered water instead of coffee. *L*

I would ALWAYS correct the wrong even if it were mere pennies. If that makes me look cheap rather than wantings thing correct then so be it. What others think of my making things correct is not my concern.

If I over charged someone, I would certainly want it brought to my attention so I could fix it. Being a decent person is really what its all about !

Depends on how big of a mistake it was. If it was a couple of dollars, I'd kind of think the guy was being petty. If it was over five dollars or more? I'd respect the man's choice and respect him for standing up for himself as well. No woman wants a completely weak man.

Generally speaking though? As long as he did it with grace and manners, I really wouldn't care whether or not he asked for a correction on the bill.

Depending on how much I was overcharged I would excuse myself from the table to go to the restroom. Find the server and mention that he or she charged you for 4 drinks instead of 3 or whatever.
After I got back I'd give him or her my card and assume that the necessary adjustments will me made.
Don't call attention to the check in front of your date.
That's what I would do.
:)

I would think the date would respect your attention to detail and correctness. If she didnt like it it would be a sign to move on to a different date next time!

It depends on the overcharge. If it was a few dollars i wouldn't.
I would call the manager the next day and say you would like a correction on your bill.

Ask your date the hypothetical question and see if he or she
has similar views about being overcharged. It's more than
being considered cheap, it's also matters of principal. The
date would consider it important that you asked their opinion
on the topic.
