I would guess a 20 oz steak to be about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inch thick. I cook mine about 5-6 inches on the first side. Turn over and watch it. When the juices start to come up it will be just right.

it depends on the thickness and the heat level. keep in mind that you really only want to turn the meat once during cooking bc that will give you the most even cook. i would probably go between 5 to 8 minutes on each side and see what it looks like after that. also remember that if you cut the meat while on the grill you will cook off some of the juice(which is a bad thing lol) but to check I would cut a small slit in the thickest part and take a look...good luck=)

It's going to depend on the thickness. Is it a thick steak like a filet, or about 1/2 inch thin?
Thick: about 3/12 to 4 minutes per side.
Thin: about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes per side.

About 7 minutes on each side depending on how hot the grill is, and how thick your steak is.
