How can you pretend you think someone's baby is cute, even if it's ugly?

You don't have to be an Academy Award winning actress to say to someone "Your baby is so precious! Congratulations." It is not a lie. All babies are gifts and are precious.

Lots of babies are funny looking when they are first born. Doesn't mean they are destined to be homely looking.

Try to find something cute about it. Sort of that their so ugly their cute concept. But don't tell the parents that. Just wait till the baby has a moment. Of course, because to that person their baby is the most beautiful thing in the world. If you find you can't honestly say "How cute" then say "How sweet", or "Such a tiny little thing". Any comment like in a high pitched voice will come across as positive. Even ugly babies have something cute about them like their big smiles, their tiny hands and feet, or if all else fails, their adorable outfit.

all babies are cute even the so-called ugly ones. You don't have to pretend. All you have to do is say something nice about the baby such as "He's got your eyes or nose or whatever". Or "he looks well, and so do you".

Mothers and fathers all think their babies are beautiful so why spoil their delight. Afterall beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
