None of the above. You CAN'T legally get a new license and the old own is NOT 'simply reinstated'. You have to follow whatever process your state has for reinstating suspended licenses. Contact the state DMV to find out what the process is.

According to what state you live in, here in Ohio, my brother in law, lost his for life. Got caught driving again, lost them for 5 years. I thought, hmm, is that life plus 5 years? Nope, he had them back within 2 years.
