The term often refers to Christians who have come to Christianity fairly recently. They tend to think therefore that their faith must be stronger or more valid than that of someone who has been a Christian all their life. I think they model themselves on St Paul and believe that you can't be a true Christian unless you have had some kind of "road to Damascus" experience. "Born again" Christianity and fundamentalism often go together.

When we are born, we are born of the flesh and of water. All life comes from water and we contain a high percentage of it. We are born spiritually dead. To come alive spiritually we need to be born again. This happens when we receive Jesus in our hearts and the Holy Spirit brings us alive spiritually. Being baptised in water is just an outward sign that we have been born again, which is why some Christian denominations do not believe in infant baptism. Water baptism is not essential but being alive in Christ is .God bless!

Born again Christian groups are not necessarily scripturally correct, or indeed better Christians than any other.

All Christians should be born again. If you are not born again you are not a Christian. John 3 : 7 says 'You must all be born again' ( Revised English Version)Those are the words of the Lord Jesus. It is an imperative

Born again Christians are people who repent (turn away from) from their sins. They have accepted that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was crucified on the cross for their sins. He died and rose again on the third day. When this happens, they are born again but this time the birth is spiritual.
One of the main differences is that catholics pray to Mary and the saints whereas non catholics pray directly to Jesus. They also seek penance through a priest whereas non catholics repent to Jesus and accept that their sins have been forgiven through faith.

It does not have to be. There is same Bible for both. BA Christians use the word BA from Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus. The change of heart is necessary. Sometimes Catholics are so ritualistic. BA Christians also hate worship of Mary and other saints, that is contradictory to the Scripture.

Catholics believe in Scripture and tradition as authoritative.

BA Christians believe in Sola fide (only through faith), sola scriptura (only through scripture) and sola gratia (through grace alone).

All sins have been confronted nad forgiven and a new life in Christ has sttarted. I am Anglican you are Catholic. We both know what that means and the duties and obligations it imposes. Sometimes I feel those who call themselves "born again Christians" are some how taking a soft option. I stand open to correction

A born again Christian is a person who knows they are born again in Christ whatever their denomination (including Roman Catholics).

Joh 3:3-7
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (KJV)

Catholics are born again Christians. We were born again in the Sacrament of baptism. It is strange though that many who say they are born again were never baptized,
