In the last few wars they use the airforce to soften up grounds targets and send in special forces to help find trouble spot and laser target buildings and vehicles to be destroyed by Aircraft to help ground troops and airborn troops.Theres no first marines or army first it depends on the mission that is need.Dont believe any of the hype from eather side as one being better then the other or be stronger, faster or better at rushing objectives.

It depends on the attack. It could be the air force first with an aireal attack then the Marines, Army, and Guard. In certain cases Navy SEALS and Airborn Rangers may go first.

It depends on the situation and location of a possible military action....usually naval action is taken first.....i.e. the first Military actions taken in Iraq this time were ships were positioned off the Iraqi coast

Depends on the mission.
Following the Tsunami, two aircraft carriers were dispatched.
They had helicopters for rescue missions, AND the capacity to make gallons and gallons of fresh water from sea water.
F16's would have been totally useless.
