I've seen shows that disprove events of the bible, but has there ever been any scientific proof that any events of the bible ever really happened?

Batgirl: the show I'm referring to was on the History Channel. I think it was called History of the Bible, and it analyzed some of the stories of the bible, and proved that they either would not have taken place or could not have taken place. Example: one event where the people assembled near a mountain to hear Jesus speak. According to scientists, they would not have made the journey due to geographical limitations, and could not have heard what Jesus was saying unless he had been speaking with a loudspeaker.

Noah's ark has come up a few times. I can't fathom how someone could manage a ship filled with 2 of every animal in the world for 40 days. If someone were to try that, it would be a disaster, as many species are predators of the others. This could only be a fable. I don't think it is humanly possible.

I think so. I'm not Christian/Jewish, but I think some of the things in the Bible did happen as a historical event.

no real proof and lion of judiah if the main stream media is so opposed to christian beliefs are are so out to discredit anything associated with the bible then why did the tomb of jesus make such big headlines? why did the apostle johns alleged ossuary become such a big media deal? neither have been proven and are getting media over skeptisism.

brian i read the story you are reffering to and it was not petrified wood. It's impossible for wood to petrify in the conditions of the mountain area in question. The formation that is shaped like to look like a boat is a natural phenomona that occurs in atleast 6-8 other pars of the mountians in the turkish/iraqi area.its all a coincidence.

Jesus is God. He could remain silent and make sure everyone there received his message.

Lookup the siege of Jericho in the old testament.

For many years, archeologists claimed the biblical account was either a total lie or a fabrication, yet once the authentic ruins were discovered, every single detail in the bible turned out to be precisely correct.

It's a known fact that jehrico existed so of course finding its ruins was bound to happen but nothing was ever proven on how it came to meet it's end.All abandoned cities crumble and disapear sooner or later.

There is a lot of evidence of a world-wide flood, but we may never find irrefutable scientific evidence of creation or evolution.

There are some ancient historians that corroborate some of the earlier Biblical accounts, for example, Borosis (275 BC) was a Babylonian historian that recorded eyewitness accounts of Noah's ark near Mt. Ararat in Turkey. By the way, Ararat means "village of 8" - there were 8 people on the Ark.

Science is not intended to be the way to explain everything. Science can't explain what makes you alive one minute and dead the next. Sure, it can explain physically what happens to make your body cease to function, but it can't explain the substance of your life force, your soul. This is a fact that can't be denied - we are spiritual beings! If we are spiritual beings then there must be a spiritual dimension that defies logic and science.

Oh, and by they way, managing the Ark was NOT humanly possible - that's kinda the point!

the only absolute fact is that the bible exists and that the words printed there are real words, and I can't think of any reason for someone to write stories about a man or a place that are not real,, some of the stories may have been told enough times to have paul bunioned themselves to a point that looses some reality but these events did in some way take place,, the parting of the sea may well have taken years and been followed by a long rainny spell, but it did probably happen , remember that time is warped when speaking about the past. what takes hours to live threw takes minuets to speak about, and over time those minuets are believed to be accurate. so when writing the story down to archive it ,,it takes a minuet to live for hours . and the people who wrote these stories ,were people who walked with god , so they didn't make them up , they may have warped them a little , but the storys are true , interpretation , mathue wrote mark wrote luke wrote ,,, the story is very close to the same ,, thats a very significant fact..

Historical events that are far enough in the past (so that all eyewitnesses are dead....) can never be proved or disproved with absolute certainty. But we can "ascertain" (not prove) that some event has occured with a high degree of certainty through many different ways such as artifacts and so forth.

There are mountains of historical evidences preserved that show that the events recorded in the Bible are true. The historical evidences are there - you just have to go out and find it. It does not take much effort nowadays with the Internet.

Here's an event that is happening right now today!
You be the judge of it?

(2 Timothy 3:1-7) 3 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

If you realize these things were to be at the end of world or world organized way of life. (World Wide)
At no other time in history can we place these things on a global scale.

People have been looking for evidence the bible is true forever...and recently there have been reports of a stone ontop of a mountain that looks like a ship, and upon inspection it wasn't stone but petrified wood....could this be the ark?

There is so much of the world we haven't searched...Just recently we found the dead sea scrolls...think of how much we would have to search to find the Ark of the Covenant.....you know?

not really, except in extremely general terms (the battle of kadesh occurred, for example, and there was a Babylonian Captivity). Many of the events that are of huge magnitude in the Bible (the exodus, the massacre of the innocents) are completely unmentioned in what contemporary sources we have.
