Why do people say the Islam god and the Christian God are the same God?

The Koran teaches that god is initarian (One God and not trinity), that Jesus is a man not God, and Salvation is by works and they are uncertain if they are really saved.
The Bible teaches God is Trinitarian (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) One God in 3 persons, Jesus was God manifested in the flesh, and Salvation is by grace. Christians have assurance that they are going to heaven.
So if these teachings are so different then how does anyone say they believe in the same God?

I know, the god of Islam is of lies and Satan, while our God is of truth, life, and love.

Islam teaches that God only wants people to obey his commands, that's it! Muslims believe that God doesn't want a relationship with us, that he wants to keep his distance!

God loved us and wanted a relationship with us, SO bad that he came down in human form and died for us.

What Jesus revealed to the Christians i.e. worship the only God is the comparable God Muslims beleive in. purely inspect early Christianity the dispute between Unitarians and Trinatarians. as an occasion the Unitarians beleived that John's Gospel could desire to examine: "interior the Begining became the word; and the word with God; and the word became GOD'S." The Greek "THEOU" God's became corrupted into "THEOS". in spite of the undeniable fact that they nonetheless acknowldege the daddy as God that's the Muslim God. So in a fashion they worship the comparable God and in a fashion they do no longer.

There are some that will say that and they are either lying, or misinfomred. The Islam God has his own book, the Koran to tell of his teachings and they are not the same as the true God of all, THe Christian God of the Bible with the teachings of Jesus. GOd tells us in the Holy Bible that if someone brings God to you without the teachings of Jesus, it is false god and we are to flee from it.
In fact, the Koran teaches that all that arent muslims are infidensl and should be killed. That means us christians too, folks. WHy do you think President Bush insists we stay and fight the war? To keep us free from the muslisms. period.
We will lose every freedom there is if they take over. So get behind the president and encourage him to fight for our freedoms, all of them. If you want the right to choose to worship God now, then you better stand up for PResident BUsh, cuz the minute the muslims take over, you worship their god or are killed. Notice the little g in the spelling of GOD.
There is only one true God, the God of the Bible, and as you say , we are told in the Bible that God is a triune God of three, Father, SOn and Holy SPirit, are all God, operating as one in the Godhead.
There are many different beliefs between us and any other religion, so to say we are like others is false, and especially to say the God of Christianity is the same god as the muslims have, is ludicrous. sheer blasphemy. No, thats the devil putting in his usual two cents to deceive, but we have a choice who we hear, believe and obey. Either God or the devil, there is no other source.
But, there are many lies about God and the Bible spread worldwide from the begining. Its all the devil at work and he does give it all he has, but he wont win. IN the end, JEsus has the victory. Devil knows that, and is doing all he can NOW to take as many of us as he can with him to hell.
People will say trinity is not said in the Bible . Yep. BUt the description of it is , and the triune God is there, meaning three in one. Our language is diffrent from the language used to write the Bible, and they could only pick one of our words that they thought closely matched theirs. GEt into the old Greek and old Hebraic words and study them with the word of God and see how the doors will open so widely for you. Prayer opens the doors, and praise keeps them open.

Only the God with the teachings of Jesus and of the triune God, is the real God and no other way to be saved but thru Jesus Christ. Jesus saves. Jesus heals, Jesus delivers. and Jesus gives us to power to overcome sin and be in victory as an overcomer just like Jesus did. So much to Praise God for, so much to celebrate.
HALLELUJAH. Praise the Lord. How can we ever say we love you enough? And then some wont obey Him, then they arent really GODS. HE says IF you love me, obey me.
The gift of salvation is free, but accepting it is very conditional. No once saved, always saved, thats another lie of the devil. If that was the case, devil would still have a chance at being saved, as he sure does know and believe.

I would agree, Christians and Muslims have completely different understanding of god, not just in the hard points, but also in philosophy and the nature and understanding.

they can't be compared, as they are too different. That is why whenever Christians and Muslims argue over religion, it goes nowhere.

If Jesus taught the same thing as Muhammed, why is there no evidance at all? If Jesus was muslim why would "they" (who is they) "change" it all? it does not even make sense.
You keep saying you believe in Jesus, well what teachings of Jesus do you believe? Do muslims believe in the sermon on the mount?

I think I am going to start telling muslims that their Quran originally said that Jesus IS salvation, but the Caliph changed muhammed's message during the time when Uthman was compiling the first Qurans.

The same is true with Islam and Judaism

Overall, both are saying there is One God. Christians do not say there are three Gods in one godhead. They simply state the three manifestations of the single God. (Like water - ice - steam)

One does not work for salvation. Salvation is free. One need only verbally confess Christ as their Lord and savior to receive salvation. "Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. i ask you to come into my heart and I make you my Lord and Savior."

I don't know a lot about Islamic culture accept that many who are passionate about it seem to believe they are dying (or sacrificing themselves) for their cause. God wants Christians to have life and have it more abundantly. Jesus died for ALL of us so there is no need for anyone to throw themselves from a plane or blow themselves up for soul credit.

We're basically waived in by one man's sacrifice - Jesus (God made manifest in the flesh). You don't have to believe me - just call on Him when you're in trouble. See what happens. That's what converted me. Ciao for now.

People falsely believe this because that is what Muslims claim all the time. allah is not God. allah is a deceiver, never is love used to describe him, and he has no Son and all that is stated in the quran. Only people that don't know any better will believe allah is God. If they really thought about it, read The Holy Bible and quran, they would know the difference.

Jesus was on the earth several centuries before Islam was thought of.
Jesus quoted and taught the old testament.Jesus explained how He was the only way to salvation.Jesus never mentioned the Koran or Mohammad while on the earth.Allah is never mentioned in the OTor NT.

Just because they do not believe in the trinity does not mean they do not believe in the same God. There are many Christian sects that don't believe the same thing, but that doesn't mean they don't believe in and worship the same God. Ex: baptists don't believe in all the gifts of the Holy Spirit, for instance, speaking in tongues. Does that mean since they don't believe in or practice that gift that they don't believe in the same God as a religious sect that does believe in and practice the gift. For Rev. Albert Einstein: everything you say is correct except for one thing. Muslims do believe Christ is the Messiah. They do believe he was sent from God to Mary, they just don't believe He is the Son of God.

Muslims (and Islam) say Jesus was a prophet but they reject all His teachings ....that is hypocrisy.

They reject Christ's diety;
they deny his claim to be the Son of God;
they deny his death on the cross...
they deny His resurrection..
They deny Jesus is the Christ/ Messiah...

Don't be deceived. The Islamic god is totally different than the God of Jesus Christ.

The Bible calls Muhammed and those like him false prophets:
"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son. He that denies the Son, the same has not the Father." (I John 2:22)

Not all Christians believe in the trinity. John talks about how the Word WAS God, in the beginning, then became flesh and dwelt among us(Jesus). And it talks about how Jesus would pray daily to crucify his flesh to the Spirit of God that dwells in Him. I believe it's Corinthians that talks about how all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Jesus.

Then in Revelation, John saw ONE throne and ONE sitting on the throne. That would be Jesus.

So not all Christians believe the same thing, either.
