I get really emotional and bitchy sometimes. I think it's partly PMS, and partly the hormones from my birth control.

When I get emotional, I take it all out on my boyfriend and it causes major problems in our relationship. I'm really not that emotional or bitchy, I think it's all due to birth control and PMS. I wasn't like this before I started birth control 2 years ago. I hate the way I treat him when I get that way and I want to fix it before it causes more problems in the relationship. Anyone have any suggestions?

It is possible to look into anger management techniques. Birth control pills affect hormone levels and the hormones affected can cause irritability (argumentativeness). Through anger management techniques you may learn better ways of managing situations that cause you to become angry or upset. First you will learn techniques such as stopping your impulse to act on your emotions and think about the situation before you respond. Stop - Think - Act. When you are thinking, ask yourself, Is this situation life threatening? If it is not, maybe you should CLARIFY what the person is trying to say or do by asking questions. May be the person does not know how you are interpreting the situation - Ask them, is this how you want me to feel or think?
Well, that is a sample of anger management techniques. Good luck and peace be with you.

Hi my Gf and I had this same issue and we basically we decided that when shes in that mood i leave her alone. I get to use this timeout to do guy stuff and she gets do girl stuff. I used to try to talk to her and console her but all that did was aggrivate things. Once it passes then we go back to normal. It was worked out great for us.
