My husband heard from his friend who is dating a Mexican woman that he cannot marry to her because of the law in Mexico. Is it really true??

By the way, they live in Mexico and the guy is European. I just thought that he came up with the non-sense not to marry her. What do you think?

I lived in Mexico for a long time and I married a Mexican woman (that I met in Mexico), so maybe I can help. I think it depends a lot on what part of Mexico they are from. Just like how Southern American guys (and gals) are more traditional and conservative, Mexican guys that come from the Mexican boonies will be more close-minded and way more Macho than someone from a big city. From a Mexican guys perspective, I don't think there is any beef being with an American girl. On the contrary, a lot of them think they've struck gold. Same with the Mexican girls liking American guys. When you're 1 in 12 Million with Green Eyes your chances go way up :P But seriously a lot of Mexicans Men do have the very traditional Male-Dominance thing going on, which is not necessarily bad but they take it to a different extreme than most Americans do and that could cause you some serious issues if you don't know the guy too well. Lots of Mexicans think that Americans are crazy liberal and Mexicans are also way paranoid when it comes to cheating, so expect trust issues to be a real problem. For instance my Mexican wife is always so shocked that I don't freak out if she talks to another guy or even if she has guy friends. She says a Mexican man would never go for that. So the impression I have is that the majority of Mexican men are very controlling and super crazy jealous. But hey, whatever floats your boat!

This is probably one of the dumbest things I've heard. The person who told you this is probably just racist. I know several Mexican women married to foreign men and several Mexican men married to foreign women. It's not true.

Or they can jump over to the US. I doubt Mexican gov can enforce any laws down there. They let mobs run some towns.

The only thing Mexico "truly " cares about is money, so as long as you have money in Mexico you can do anything you want, legal or illegal,,,,,,,

i don't know of any laws either.did some research and did not find anything except to third world countries or communist ones.he just might be trying to pull out because he is to scared or immature.
