Children walk at their own time when they are ready.
Some earlier than others.
My two oldest boys walked by a year old.The third son was a different story. He was almost 19 months old.
As long as your doctor is not concerned,I wouldn't worry.I took my son to his doctor and nothing was wrong. He told me he'd walk when he was ready. He was quite chubby and very content as a baby.He never crawled either. He was quite content and happy wherever I put him with his toys.
As long as you've had him to his doctor and the doctor isn't concerned, don't worry
Thank your lucky stars you're not chasing after him yet. LOL.

My kids both started around 9 months, but that is early. I would say 15 months is late. If your baby is almost 18 months and not walking you should see a Dr.

Typically babies start walking before 15 months. Has the doctor seemed concerned? Has he been slow at other milestones? He may be a late developer, but to be on the safe side you may want to have him looked at by a specialist and see if there is a reason for his not walking.

typically children start walking between 9-18 months old with average age being 12 months.
if your child is overweight or is being carried a lot or in a stroller a lot then he will walk later then average. dose he stand alone and walk using furniture?
you should have him seen by a doctor to see if he is developing properly.
My friends daughter was over weight and did not walk alone till she was almost 21 months old. She did however walk holding onto furniture for quite some time.

He should be walking now. If he is really chubby that might explain it. Or if he isn't stimulated to walk, if he is constantly held or always in a high chair, stroller, car seat then that might explain, but if he is a normal weight and is stimulated plenty I would take him to the doctor. My daughter walked at 12 months. Normal average age for walking.

That is a little late. Can he pull himself up on a piece of furniture and walk holding on? Most kids start walking by 15 mo. or so. If you are really concerned check with your pediatrician.

I agree with the others, your child should probably be walking by now. If he is hitting the other milestones ok, then he probably just doesn't want too. Do not carry him around all the time. I know this goes against current "wisdom" but get your child a walker, this will help him develop his leg muscles. Just be careful with it, and follow all the safety guidelines, like not using around stairs, or uneven surfaces.

As long as he is not behind on things like sitting or crawling I wouldn't worry too much especially if his doctor isn't concerned. Also, if he is significantly overweight this will make it harder for him to walk. Or if he is carried a lot he would not be able to strengthen his legs to be able to walk.

I agree with ashley that is rather late my sons both started walking at 9 months . but if everyone including yourself is carrying him they need to stop. I would talk to your pediatrician as well he might have some info for you . good luck .
