The few atheists I’ve known, literally could care less about the discussion of atheism or religion, or anything related. You do have to wonder about people claiming to be ‘atheist’ that post on religious boards. I can honestly and safely say that I’ve never posted on a board about Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, etc….

Just curious as to your thoughts!

I don't believe in god(s).

Proof enough?

Some of us enjoy the debate with believers. We enjoy honing our arguments and the challenge of debate. It is intellectually stimulating.

Besides, our presence on boards such as this offers balance. I am sure there are believers out there who get the same intellectual stimulation form debating with the opposing view point.

You wouldn't post on a board about Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy because that would involve arguing with *children*, not the adults that you can find here.

Sorry you've known some of the ignorant atheists, really ... but some of us are interested, even if we don't believe it.

Well, I like to learn knew things and challenge myself. I love religion. That's really it. I like to learn and discuss and dissect. I don't think being an atheist is a good enough reason to be ignorant to a very big part of human history.

You're not judging now, are you? I suppose for the same reason Christians knock at my atheist door. They're educating, spreading the word. Since I'm a good neighbor, I've decided to reciprocate. It's all out of love.

The title of this category is Religion and Spirituality, NOT "Religious". If fundies would mind their own spiritual business, there would be no need for atheists to educate them about atheism.

I don't believe Stargate's Ori, Wraith, or G'ould species exists but that doesn't mean I don't post on Gateworld's forum!

I have an interest in religion, doesn't mean I have to believe in it. If you don't like it you can lump it.

Ugh... the phrase is "couldn't care less"!

Anyway, I don't have a belief in any god or gods and never have. Therefore, I am indeed an atheist.

Not again. When are the Christians going to get sick to death of asking this same bloody question over and over and over again?
