Australia - Natives used emu calls made from Eucalyptus tree branches to imitate emo mating calls in order to hunt them.

Male emus make deep growling grunts. Females make sequences of up to a dozen single or double loud, thudding drummings. Young emus make whistling peeps. They make their calls in their throats and mouths as all birds do.
