A friend of mine put her hamster in the tub overnight till she could get him a replacement cage for the one he destroyed and he never got out. She also had a hamster ball he loved to run around in which would probably be better than the tub. You just have to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get stuck behind anything.

I bought three hamsters a few years ago and i let them run free in my bathroom. What I didn't realise was that there was a small hole behind the toilet leading down into the floorboards. I managed to stop one of them but the other two just disappeared!
Just make sure yours can't escape in the same way if they get out of the bath.

Before now I have put my hamster in the bath tub but never left him unattended and never left him more than a couple of minutes. Mine seemed pretty distressed after a couple of minutes, probably because he felt trapped and frustrated that he couldn't manage to climb.
Why don't you buy a hamster ball instead, and put your hamster inside it? It is a very safe way for them to explore their surroundings. Just make sure you don't leave him in there more than 15-20 minutes.

I did the same thing, but first I plugged the hole and laid down a towel. also if you want to make it more fun for him put a few empty toilet paper roles in there along with like a small box so he can hide and climb on things. Also take a book in and read while you watch him so you don't have to worry about him getting out.

hm.... that sounds like a pretty good Idea,
The only thing is, put something, so the hamster can`t go down the drain (uhho)... I really don`t think he will get out... But... Just watch in case he tries.

Try it! Just keep an eye on him. Let him run around the bathtub and just stay in there with him if he starts to get out stop him. PS: my hamster hates his run around ball!

Have you seen the large plastic balls in which he can travel around the room by himself? Big pet shops have them.
They are moved in the same way as the hamster turns his wheel. My daughter had one for her hamster and he used to really wind-up her cat by rolling himself round and round moggy.

Well i put like three hamsters at once in my bathtub for about 30 min. and he never could get out.
But if you don't know whether or not it can come out then just watch it and see if it can come out or not,ok!
It depends on how high or low your bathtub is because mine is high!
hope this helps
