Call Child Protective Services and report him! They can suspend visitation until a court hearing. Since the child is 9, she can testify to what is going on at her dad's. However, she'll likely be intimidated to testify in front of him, so have your lawyer try to get the judge to talk to her in chambers.
This probably won't result in her getting a horrible disease, but it's certainly not healthy or hygienic!
If he has no stove or fridge, what is he feeding the child? Happy Meals 3 times a day? Do they have hot water, or is your child going all weekend without bathing, or even able to wash her hands? My gosh!
This is certainly neglect of a dependent, and you will be charged with the same if you don't step up and take steps to stop it! Call Child Protective Services (in your phone books blue pages) first thing in the morning, and inform them of the situation. Be the mom! Good luck!

Hi.
1. Have you talked with your "ex-husband" about this situation?
2. Have you spoken to your daughter about this situation.
3. How long has this been going on?
4. What is the best interest of your child?

Going thru divorce can be a very painful experience and people react differently. Is this your ex-husband or ex-boyfriend?

The reason I ask these questions...is the same reason the court will be asking you soon. WHAT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD.

Who has primary custody of the child presently?
Are you represented by an attorney....if not...you certainly need one at this point.

When you call Child Protective Services or the Human Society or ANY AGENCY.....they will be checking out BOTH YOUR HOME & THAT OF YOUR EX-husband's./boyfriends.

IF BOTH are found to be neg. them the CHILD CAN BE REMOVED FROM BOTH HOMES AND PLACED IN FOSTER CARE!

IF YOU HAVE AN ATTY....ASK HIM/HER TO FILE A MOTION FOR AN EMERGENCY HEARING (The court will hear the case that SAME DAY the motion is filled or within 24 HRS). Custody will be addressed at this hearing and all problems etc discussed.

Temp. custody will be awarded to either parent or child protection. PLEASE think of your child and keep her out of harms way. I would contact your attorney TODAY.

This is not only a health hazard this is a crime. Your child should not even go to his house much less sleep there. The cats should not even live in such conditions. This is not healthy for either the child or the cats, not even healthy for her dad. My suggestion is call the humane society after you call Department of Human Resources or Department of Social Services or Department of Child Protection. All should investigate this situation as well as it will give you the evidence for court to prove that he has no right to have even visitation with his child and that he should not even be a pet owner. This is court approved evidence and will have the child removed from his ability to have visitation much less from taking her away from you. The cats should be removed as this is not just child abuse but animal abuse too. The father could end up with jail time at the least with fines and penalties to pay for the animal cruelty and you won't have to worry about him taking the child from you ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Call them all NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it's certainly not good! Why do you even let your daughter go there? Unless there was a court order, my child sure wouldn't. If there IS a court order, call the abuse hot line in your state and report your father. Trust me, the state authorities will not tolerate than kind of an environment for any child. The house is not fit for any child to be in.

I know the answer! It is only harmful if the urine got inside of the child's body If the urine did go in there is gonna be bad sickness
around the house or side affects to the child is rashes and more i say ask a doctor. My thought is that you move in an apartment AWAY from the dude who owns the house or if you love him and want to stay I say kick the cat's out and make them outdoor cats.

Hm, I can't think of any illnesses that would occur per se, although constantly sleeping on a bed wet from urine would be bad for her skin - possible urine scalding. It's certainly not healthy anyway, and there can be no doubt that keeping a child in this conditions should not happen, so I don't think you'll have too much trouble setting things right, good luck.

Well.. Is it harmful to have a kittylitter box in the house with you?? How long as this been going on?? Obviously it's recent thing cause the kid didn't say anything about it earlier.. I don't think it's neglect or abuse.. I think maybe he didn't realize that the cat was peeing there.. It's not like he forced the cat to pee in the bed?!?

Amonia is toxic. The cat is peeing in the bed probably because of th presence of the invador. Sanitation should rule the day.

I would say forget the cat pee! You have more serious issues to deal with here. Her dad clearly isn't capable of caring for her properly.I admire you for letting her see her dad but don't let your daughter go to a place with no stove,no fridge and uncared for animals. If he can't do the basics of pet care you have no hope that he can care for a child! You have to put your daughter first, time to get tough!

This is extremely unsanitary. Mention to the child's father. He may not know it's happening. Has your daughter told him about it or is she afraid to tell him?
I think this is reportable to the child abuse folks if he refuses to do something about it.

Comment to DP: No it's not unsafe to have a kitty litter box in the house, but I'll bet you wouldn't wanna sleep in it, now would ya'?
