An omnipotent and omniscient God would have been able to find solutions that don't involve beating and executing innocent people. Mere humans manage to do it.

It was not the death that was the sacrifice. It was taking on the burden and filth of the sin of all mankind through all time. It was bearing the shame, the separation from holiness and love that was the sacrifice.
The big deal is the representation. The atonement lamb sacrifice that had been re-enacted so many times by the Jews. Jesus's sacrifice was signifigant in its symbology and neccessity in fulfillment of God's law. Which is why he is called the LAMB of God, God the father sacrificed his Son so that we may live.

This is a loaded question for most and needs an indepth answer which goes back to before creation if you can even imagine that!! Before the world was created Father, Son, and Holy Spirit existed. They always were, are, and will be.
God had created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless andempty, darkness was over the surface of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Picture a mother bird caring or and protecting its young. So, the Spirit of God was doing the same over the earth.
We move on thru the creation period which includes Adam and Eve. The Garden of Eden was a perfect place. Everything was given to them on a silver platter. They had direct access to God himself. That is, until they fell into sin. Because God is Holy they needed to be holy and unclean themselves in order to have a direct relationship with Him. Once they sinned, that access was cut of hence thrown out of the Garden of Eden where cherubims were place at the front gates so that they would not be able to come back in. Sin was not allowed in there.
Go to Gen. 3:15 and you will see that God already had a solution as soon as sin fell upon man, "...He will crush your head and you will strike His heel." "He will crush your head" is a foreshadow of Satan's defeat when Christ rose from the dead. The phrase "you will strike His heel" refers to Satan's repeated attempts to defeat Christ. When we strike our "heel" or foot we stumble or even fall. At this point the Godhead, all three in one, had their meeting and at this meeting Jesus told his Father He would be willing to come to earth and solve this problem of alienation or separation. John 1:1-5, " IN the bedginning was the Word, and the Word as with God, and the word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. Thelight shines in the darness, but the darkness has not understood it." The word "Him" referes to Jesus.
But until said time the only way to have any type of access to God was thru animal sacrifice. They had to find the perfect lamb with no blemishes..why? Because God is holy and perfect and nothing less will do. Blood needed to be shed for the attonement of sin which you can read in Exodus 29:36-46.
We fastforward to the New Testatment and the birth of Jesus Christ. Luke 1:32-33 reads as follows, "He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The ord God will give Him the throne of his father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever,; His kingdoem will never end". Remember at the beginning when I mentioned Gen. 3:15...here it is coming to pass. Jesus, a Greek form of the Hebrew name, Joshua, was a common name meaning 'the Lord Saves." Just as Joshua had led Israel into the promised land, Jesus would lead his people into eternal life.
Read John 3:16. When you love someone dearly you are willing to give reely to the point of self-sacrifice. This is exactly what God did for us. He loved us before we loved Him and because of this great love for us which was why He created us He paid dearly with the life of His Son, the highest price He could pay and Jesus accepted it. He said YES, way back in Gen. 3:15. Jesus is the "perfect lamb" for our sins paid once and for all which offers us once more direct access to God thru Him.
John 14:6 - "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
I hope this answers you question even a tad bit.

There had to be a payment for sin .A sin is a crime against Gods law .When someone goes in front of a judge for the crimes they are guilty of . The judge says the payment is either $ or time in Jail . You cannot say " Well judge I'm really a nice person , let me go OK ?". God will only Judge us , OUR sins will send us to hell . God came to the earth as a human to make that payment for sin with his blood ,suffering ,and , death . "That who soever believeth on the Son of God will be saved ". Through Gods infinite Mercy he gave us a way out from eternal damnation

Wow you spend a lot of time on Yahoo! In order to save mankind or you or I, God had no choice but to sacrifice his one and only son. Before then you had to continually sacriface lambs and goats etc to please God. Now we don't have to - the debt has already been paid. You must have children yourself - imagine having to give up one of yours so that the world could be saved - would you do it? Probably not! God however, loved you so much that he did! If you were the only person on earth at that time He still would have done it. Doesn't have to make sense.

Perhaps He could have generated a second son. But He didn't. The rest of creation is God's handiwork. Jesus was generated FROM the original Prime Personality.
But you're probably right. Most people probably can't quite picture the difference.

Now I grew in church and the reason why GOD picked Jesus because God saw no man on Earth that could tell people right from wrong. So when Jesus died he was going to show that if you live holy and right you will live in Heaven FOREVER and have everlasting life. But when Jesus died he shown that everyone is going to die but when he resurrected he showed that if you live holy you can live again.

that's cos you aren't smart enough and your not looking at the whole picture. Christ was God's only son because He only needed one... anymore than that woulda been superfluous and keep in mind that, even though Christ was the son of God, it was still His LIFE that He sacrificed for humankind... God isn't gonna send a whole family born from a virigin to sacrifice their LIVES (you sacrafice your life for something one day and see how much He mustve been excited to do it) and you also gotta realize God gave us freewill, "snapping" His fingers to make everything right isn't gonna help anyone especially God... this is something humans have gotta take care of themselves... Alot of people have even decided they don't need or desire God in their life so God accepts that... He has to, and if He just appeared He would take away that freedom to believe in Him or not. People like to live in ignorance and so let it be.
You also gotta understand, people have to CHOOSE to follow God.. if He impregnated every woman on Earth then that would be forcing His aspirations of humanity on the world and taking away that freewill... He coulda MADE this world PERFECT from the beginning but that would pointless because they wouldn't have had a choice in the matter... and they would be like puppets without any real thoughts or choices, everything would have been fabricated... fake. Whereas people here are real, they make real decisions and real lives for themselves and they have the freedom to do whatever they want... they can become a doctor or an astronaught or w/e... God took away His own power over us and that's why He only sent His ONE son whom He had demonstrated a fraction of Gods power and trying to lead people into heaven by following Christs example.
But that's only if people choose to follow Him... so it's your choice. God won't force you.

Jesus is not just a begotten son.
Jesus is ETERNALLY begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
