on wed,the 4th there was a free bone/treat in the dog food bag.
it was kind of chewy/hard I split it between my 2 dogs. within maybe 20 minutes there was no trace of it. on friday mj the chihuahua acted like she didn't feel good. she went to the bathroom it was softer than normal but not dirreha. Sat she was playing, drinking, eating, etc. Today she is like she was friday although i haven't seen her have a bowel movement. i am just wondering maybe she didn't chew that treat up good enough and it might have cause her to get plugged up. She ate grass in the a.m but she hasn't really eaten, she has drank a little water. the heat is awful with the heat index of101 she hasn't been outside since its gotten that high. Sometime she shivers and sometimes she panting

She could have an intestinal obstruction. This happens a lot if the bone was rawhide.
If she continues to not eat, a trip to the vet would be in order.
The only reason to give a stool softener would be if she is constipated, so dont do that. it might cause more harm than good.

Only a vet should give an enema to a dog.
Not a try at home procedure, can easily injure the dog.
Watch this dog carefully, could be one of those toxic food products/bones, or could be the high heat.
Those toxic dog & cat food products affect the kidneys, the animal becomes listless and ill.
I am suspecting the hot weather, but yo are there so keep an eye on her/him and call a vet if you think something is wrong.
24 hours should let you know better what if anything is happening.
offer some cool water ( not cold;cool) and try to keep the CHI comfortable from the heat.
Grass eating is common and often dogs eat grass to settle the stomach.

I wouldn't give her an enema or stool softener. Just cause you didn't see her poop doesn't mean she hasn't.. Unless you watch her like a hawk when she goes out..
It's likely that she has cut down on eating due to the heat.
If it was a chewy hard bone ( and the bag should advertise on the front what the free bone inside was ) it's likely that her stomach has already taken care of it. Unless it was one of those old Greenies or something, I can't imagine that it's going to be something that is going to hurt her.
If she is constipated or stopped up, she isn't going to keep eating.. They pretty much know better than to keep pounding down the food if it's not coming out.
I say take her for a nice long walk tonight when it cools down. Make sure she is getting plenty to drink and see how it goes. IF she hasn't pooped by tomorrow call the vet and tell him what's going on.
Other dog is totally fine?

Do not give an animal any kind of medication until you speak to the vet. Many times it can do more harm than good.
It's possible that she's got an intestional blockage or intestional upset. Either way, it's best to call the veterinarian first thing in the morning and have her brought it to be seen.
If she begins to act lethargic, continues with the shivering and panting, you may want to bring her to an emergency veterinary clinic or at the very least call one.

under no circumstances should you give your dog an enema or a stool softener. take her to the vet, and tell them whats going on... if the vet instructs you to do either of those, then its fine, but if you did it without consulting a vet, then you could do some harm.....keep the dog hydrated, till you can get her to the vet.

I wouldn't give an enema to this dog. She more than likely has diarrhea (symptoms can be similar). She sounds sick, and could be dehydrated. I'd really recommend a vet visit asap.

Most likley the treat will pass. You DO NOT WANT TO GIVE HER AN enema yourself. .suppose she is obstructed and the enema causes a rectal prolapse.. Now you got real trouble. If she is straining to pass stool. you need Professional veterinary help.

Talk to your vet. it sounds like there are a lot of mitigating circumstances and she could handle your dog's health best.
