Esta muerto means "it's dead" or "he/she is dead" or "dead".
Now, sometimes when you find yourself in a situation for example: Your father told you not to take the car. But he and your mom are out in the other car so you grab the keys and go for a spin around the block, but you have an accident let's say here that you and the other driver never took precautions and at the same time smacked into each other You know that your dad will punish you and you say "estoy muerto", which is "I'm dead" in other words your in big trouble.
So it means that some one, thing or person is realy dead
and also dead which is in realy deep trouble.
